Alright, come on, how many of you have ever bought a guitar you didn't really need while inebriated? I woke up the other day to find that I had ordered a Dean Cadillac on Guitar Center used while drinking and listening to the Cars after Rik Ocasek died. Not an original, just a $300 one and I guess I can return it if it's a crap guitar, but man I don't need any more guitars. Still, I don't have any guitars like that at all and I do occasionally get paid to play in 80s band, so I have often thought I should have something appropriate for that recurring gig. Also, I was drunk and I live in Boston, so the Cars are a big deal here. The Cahs.

I don't really drink like that anymore. Back when I did, I think the worst money-management decision that happened was I waaaaay over-tipped the bartender by like $100. Probably out of guilt.

I'm curious (really) how did you "woke up the other day to find I had ordered a Dean Cadillac on Guitar Center used while drinking....."? Did you check your computer history, or have an email confirmation, or what? Back in "the day", I used to go out and check my car for fresh dents or make sure my watch and wallet were on the dresser where I usually left them.....but never ordered anything online that I didn't intend to. Man!....I'm glad I never drink THAT much anymore. ;)

When I used to sell gear on Ebay (haven't for years), I'd try and have the auction end between 1am and 3am CST . Lots of drunk bidders on-line at the wee hours of the morning.

I never ordered anything drunk but once beat on my favorite guitar at the time, an Ibanez Roadstar strat-like guitar, to stupidly prove I wasnt attached to it... Left a mark, but my friends stopped me before I could do any significant damage. Inexpensive, but played really well, and sounded great.

That’s the only time I shop for gear.

I got the best stuff when drunk.

I have proven many times that I don't need to be drunk to buy guitars I do not need.

Hmm I may have purchased a pedal or two after drinking but most of my drunk purchases are shameful amounts of fast food haha
