I look at that and think, well, I need to replace all of the hardware including the pickup.

The pickup might be ok, if it's the same as the CVC 60s, the rest I agree. Too much extra expense to be bothered with. I've replaced nearly all the hardware on my CVC, don't think I could be bothered again.

I usually figure, it is one pickup and someone will be selling a prized Tele bridge PU often for less than $100. That said, I have a players Nocaster with its original bridge PU, ONLY. It is now an Esquire. But that pickup? Magic, 3d. I'd ask $200 if I were to be nutz and sell it, but it would be worth it. THe Fender Nocaster pu's they sell? Not in this PU's league. This PU is far above them.

I’d like it in a different color maybe

I haven’t had trouble with squier hardware, I've only had a couple though

    Wow, I like it.

Question: on these Squier esquires, is the third position the old original bassy wiring or is it something more like the Eldred mod? Wondered about that for the 70th anniversary Fender esquires, too...

It's probably just me, but I change all Squer hardware, as it always looks and feels cheap.
As for the colour I agree, I absolutely hate lake placid blue on any guitar, so it's more than likely that which is putting me off.

That's a beaut. I never had a blue guitar, maybe it is time.

15 seconds and I'm over it. I would like the body though, to revisit my B16 CVC bodied partscaster. I still have the neck, just need a double bound body.

Hot. I'm a sucker for double bound 60"s bodies. If there are no routes under the guard, it might be worth it.

Like the 50s looking one in vintage white from Sweetwater a lot better than this, and I thought that one was pricey at $399. CME is getting bold, but good on them, they'll probably sell them out.

EDIT: This post seems harsh, I actually like this thing.

I'm on the hunt for a double bound body and would consider this just to get the body. I'd sell the neck because CV necks are too thin for me. Only thing is that most of the CVs I've picked up lately are really heavy, so I'd have to know what the thing weighs before buying.

Nice but need more data on: 1) weight, and 2) neck profile, before any serious consideration.
I have a Classic Series 50s Esquire with a deep C 7.25 radius neck, but prefer a 9.5 radius over the vintage spec.

Preordered. As much for the double bound blue body as anything, really. Not due til July, so I have 90 days to really think it through in case I decide to cancel. But these things will probably sell out, so I wanted to get one in case I decide it's a still a good idea.

It's the same price as the current iteration of the CVC model, which I never liked due to sunburst hatred, but is priced above the non-bound body 50s Esquire model by $80.
