Getting my wife that Bernina 17" throat sewing machine with embroidery attachment and new table for her birthday really paid off. ;) That was over 2 years ago, I was not looking to collect on any back gifts.

In fact we have a rule about expensive gifts I severely broke with the Bernina. I got each of the kids to chip in 500.00 to give me immunity. ;)

My plug in fest with my Hammond Ghia thru closed Orange 112 with my very last G12-80 from 1961a cab, rest blew up. Seems so like familiar territory for voice and when I did play my Pauls. 40 years without, but Teles held me up fine. ;)

I like the 57 classic more than I expected. These where set up very well, not even a PU height diddle needed, and I am a diddler personified..

Nice. You can’t have enough Les Paul’s.
Congratulations!

I also have a late ‘70s “The Paul” (mine is Walnut).

I've had a Mahogany [correction] 84 Firebrand for near 15 years. It was 200.00 or something with hardshell busted up good at the control panel, glue still holding up. They are so light for anything Paul!!

;)
It has the Pulled T-Bobbins from my Custom that got SDHBs, all my guitars got the Al De Meola treatment back then late 70s. ;)

In case you all don't think I am have a very fun run.

I'm waiting for a Snakehead fat Warmoth Stainless Jumbos for my 48 Proto. I've been outta the guitar loop for 10 or more years-ish and it is coming back.

This little screamer snarl caster with a Pre B1, volume only and like 10-12" of wire total will breath again.. And it breaths fire too. My 3rd pine caster.. first few years of new millennia.

Been sitting in the case since I put that normal neck where it came from.

This is a first for me. NGD usually are followed by plug NG into every amp here, well not LPs into Acoustics or anything...

The Paul got total seal of approval just with the Hammond GHIA and the 112 closed Orange cab with my very last G12-80 outta a Marshall cab. ;)

Not driven to run and dig out the old heavy 212, I hat e moving it even 10 feet....

Life is good this week!!!

Decided the 71 deserved the Royalty treatment in the RI case the 84 The Paul been living in. ;)

Even though the 71 came with orig case, these RI cases are super nice. This one has got some vintagy Patina on it. I think it was/is early 90s RI case..

The Orig 71 case got some stank on it too.. Like going onto your great grand parents basment/attic stank. At least no ciggy stank. ;)

Going to update:

Simply put, the Deluxe need no verbal embellishment.

But I can say being out of the LP loop for as long as I have been, and 2012 Gibson QC internet data points I've read for past decade as I looked convincing myself I could do with out...

The 2012 Traditional is way more guitar than I expected it would be FWIW. Especially considering my A/B is with the 71 Deluxe. Does is make you swoon at the tone of it plugged in like the 71, no. but almost almost... More like a good hammer, that is a working guitar IMO.

My Trad Pro is a great guitar. I just wish a) it weren't quite so heavy, and b) that I didn't have to worry about the inherently fragile headstock/neck joint.... both of those factors cause me to almost never gig with it.

Well I had a custom as a younger player @ 11.8 lbs, 3rd PU didn't help.

So these both @ a bit +9lb seem OK to me, with my 45 year old 4.5 wide leather strap.

Just curious what "quite so heavy' means

Side note: Putting that strap on to play these LPs, the feel of that fat leather on my shoulder.. Was like putting on an old pair of favoite worn in heavy denim jeans. A lot flashed back in an instant at the sensation of the cold leather before it warmed. ;)

Scomparatively, if you'd share additionally.

OK, I just checked. My Trad Pro LP weighs 9.1 lbs. My #1 gigging Tele weighs 7.7 lbs. The delta is only 1.4 lbs so maybe I just need to "man up". But to be honest it's also the fear of breaking it. All it takes is me or a clumsy bandmate knocking it off the stand. I had a '79 pancake goldtop Deluxe with a repaired headstock joint so I know how easily they can break....

Note my mention of the 4.5" wide leather strap. It really make a big difference. Isn't 9 not heavy for a LP.

Nice top BTW, bet you already know. ;)

I hear you on the headstock fear. About 1980 my Custom just 3 weeks after I un-fretless wondered it with a refret got borrowed without permission and dropped while I was at work. I handeled it well considering I was 22 years old. By that I mean I did not get indited. ;) So back to the shop it went...

Man, that plaintop Deluxe is freakin beautiful.
The Traditional has a one piece top to my surprise...

And I find I am really liking that about it. I love a flamed/figured top. But I feel too much like a poser even having plain tops. But the maple top snap added I missed big time...
