Well, considering how many Teles I have. Besides the 84 Firebrand The Paul Mahogany I've had for almost 15 year, nary a Full LP since 1982 when I sold my Tobacco and wine customs...

Went to look at a 2012 Traditional Cherry Burst, and talking I said I always really wanted a Deluxe. Seller goes into another room and comes out with a pretty not too bad 71 pancake cherry burst deluxe. PUs are to die for, stick a fork in me.

Long story short, I bought them both. Not neck repairs, a few pots and re-fret on the Deluxe

Just over 9lb each, not terrible. My Custom 3 PU LP was 11.8!!

Today was a good day. ;)

Grats!! I have leaned towards LPs a lot in recent years! Both look awesome, but wow that Deluxe is gorgeous!!!

I hope they give you many years happy playing and enjoyment!

I had a goldtop pancake Deluxe that really sounded awesome, but it was so heavy I never played out with it, so I let it go.

Like a lot of us, I always have a side eye for the long lost LP lust. I guess sooner or later it happens.

Seller has a R9 that is Porky, so he has a trade with his R9 for a CS Lester that is 8.4 lbs or something and added cash. I guess I landed at the right time, and only a few miles form my house too.

I was kinda tire kicking on the 2012 honestly, but when I plugged the Deluxe into his 4x10 Hot Rod dlx, that neck pickup reached into my soul, not exaggerating.

I like cherry bursts, but really lean goldtops. As far as pancake build Norlins, I got no problem myself and that what they where... They either sound great or they sound ok one way of the other.

The shiny new stop tail piece that seems to have gone on when the bigsby was taken off annoys me, LOL.

The only one I have in my stash is a gold one from early 80s I had tried the wrap over on. No big gig zig. But maybe a distressed one...

Before the internet, I had owned a couple Norlin LP's and loved them, A maple neck cherry burst Custom and A pancake Goldtop. Traded them off for other stuff. I still don't have anything with the almighty long neck tenon and I'm OK with that.

The only thing better than a Les Paul is two Les Pauls! Congrats!

The finish on the Deluxe is very similar to the finish on my '82 Standard. Low clown content, looks great.
