Years ago I worked for an industrial electronics company, and one day had to contact one of our customers.
    The company name: Analgas
The call started something like this:
"Is this Analgas?" I say (Pronounced with a long A)
The receptionist, very politely replied "Yes this is Analgas". (Accentuating the short A). It was only at this point of the conversation I realised my error. I felt rather embarrassed, I don't think she did.

Really!!!!!!!! Who would call their business name Analgas?????

We were in the midwest and the "adult beverage" store in whichever state it was, was called Package Liquor. The drummer piped up and said "That's just what I need. A Package Licker".

About 30 years ago I went to a nice Morrocan theme restaurant in Las Vegas.
I was clearly underdressed, and the young woman tasked with seating people asked me the same question.
I smugly made the same response.
After an awkward minute of silence, l showed myself out.
    It really happened.

Not exactly double entendre, but poor Toyota. I can't see an MR2 without thinking "Mister Two," or a TRD without thinking "there goes a turd."

I always thought NPR's slogan a few years ago invited ridicule and a dubious truth, "If we don't do it, who will?", which is a poster child for capitalism, where if someone isn't already doing it, its because its not wanted or needed..

Any old west saloons almost always had liquor in the front and poker in the rear.

I was traveling through Little Yazoo in Misissippi and saw a liquor store sign that firstly was proclaiming that they were, in fact a "Liquor" store , and secondly was identifying what town they were in

I had to edit a brochure for a campground in northern Maine. The owners' first language was French. Three lines I'll never forget:

    - Enjoy picnics in our insect-controlled woods.

    - Beautiful lakes and streams saturate the region.

    - Book exciting white-water rafting trips through our office.

Good one! Right up there with this timeless classic:

"How would you like your eggs cooked?"
    "Gee, that'd be great!"

I always like to tell friends that I haven't seen in a while: "Don't be any stranger" when departing.

Seriously? They've been in Staines for decades. Surely the first time someone answered the phone like that they stopped doing it, and probably made sure that new receptionists didn't do it.

I found references to the joke, though, going back to 2002.
