It's Fenders latest attempt to sell another load of Guitars. Not for me, at least until they're discounted to MIM prices.

Maybe ... maybe not, but good fun if nothing else :)

But put a maple neck with black block inlays on this thing, and I'd seriously consider buying it

That sort of reminds me of the Harmony H74:

The Antigua burst was already an awful finish. That is just rancid.

It seems a nice guitar. But it's not a Tele. Tele is a single cutaway, strings through body. 21-22 frets. Headstock. In my strictest moods it's single coils. But the humbuckers are cool. And I'd probably let a bigsby trem through.

So, would I buy these? Answer: depends who they play, but if they played well yes. I wouldn't call them a telecaster though.

I've seen certain finishes that it seems to look cool with, and I would love it if they had a maple neck. I think I would like one, but like others have said it just doesn't seem like a Tele to me. Definitely cool in its own right though.

    No thanks.
It reminds me of a time I went to see a tele on the old buy and sell newspaper locally, this is years before Craigslist. It was an early 70's tele, and he forgot to tell me it had been made into a double cutaway, and refinished!!
God awful, and this incarnation is too...

I like it.. but have not plans to buy it.

Refreshing to see some fresh takes on guitars that were originally made over 60 years ago, even if it isn't for me.

Yes I like it. If GC blows them out I'll buy one for sure.

It's just a guitar. I'd rock one in a heartbeat!

I saw one of these double cuts in a local Fender dealer this evening. I played it a bit. It was a hefty little bugger, and it played well enough. But every time I turned it over and looked, it was still, well, a bit on the ugly side. I just cannot seem to warm up to it for some reason.

    Decent player, though.

I've seen one incarnation that has some appeal, and I think the difference is the pickguard shape and the f-hole......2006 TC-90
