When I see a double-bound burst body, I usually want to see a really dark RW board with it. Anybody prefer maple boards with a double-bound body?

I read that double bounds with maple are usually embraced by commies, hippies, and carnies...sometimes retired mimes as well...

    haha, you guys are funny!

Seriously, I agree with AngryHatter, it would take a special guitar for me to go rosewood on a Tele. I respect everyone that does, but for me? Give me maple, please, whatever the body. Btw, my Ibanez ATK bass has a maple fretboard, and if I had my way, my Takamine would too...Lol!

So I'm just obsessed with maple...perhaps my opinion isn't worth much here...

I love double bounds with rw, but maple is good too. Dave's had a few cs sparkles with maple, double bound, and matching headstock= awesome!

My Jerry Donahue was doublebound sunburst with a fat maple neck. Oh what a nice one it was. I miss it dearly.

I had one, Japanese 62 RI body in vintage white with black binding and Japanese 52 RI maple neck. Stupidly sold the neck thinking that I would replace it with a Rosewood to make it a proper 62RI...beginning of the end and then ended up selling the body as I couldn't find the right neck! This is the one telecaster and only the second guitar that I really wish I never sold (the other being a Japanese Jaguar special HH). Searched over an old thread and found these pics of it, seeing them makes me yearn for her all the more :(

just "put " this one togehter this morning. Rondo SX double bound body, Squier Custom II neck. i honestly don't understand all the fuss about fitting Fender necks to these bodies; it fits perfectly, no shims needed, no gaps in neck pocket, neck plate and hole patterns line up perfectly, took longer to re-string than it did to change the necks out.

anyway, i like the look better than the stock SX headstock, which ain't THAT bad, anyway, but this does look better.

sorry for the sideways pic; i'm too stoopit to figger out how to "turn" it, i'm OLD i tell ya:confused::oops::twisted:

    Guilty as charged. :(

I like matching headstocks with maple necks too. That's apparently an odd combination for a Fender? I've seen it on G&L ASATs before.
