Are you suggesting @David Barnett has a short memory these days?
Then, uh, OMG!
You were in Stryper???
I still build the best Guitars money can avoid! and you can Troll that to the BANK!!
What was the question?
Man, I was as big of a metalhead as they came in the 80s, and I absolutely abhorred Stryper. I'm less full of hate and judgment these days, but I still think that Stryper wasn't very good, and the whole leather-n-lipstick thing just doesn't work for me.
Is it my turn to buy a round, or yours?
Yeah, erm, whatever... Tube amps sound better, yeah.
Trolls are entertaining for me... but I learned not to feed them, because one time I was trolled so hard that I didn't even know I was being trolled... he was in complete control the whole time, egging me on, burning my blood, laughing in secret... And I caught a swift banstick to the face...
The troll just kept trolling, knowing he had secured the victory, as my forum profile lay lifeless on the field of tdpri. Waiting to be resurrected: time erased my thoughts of revenge... and life continued nonetheless.
That's a thread in itself. I didn't know he had disappeared.
But come to think of it, it has been quiet lately.
Maybe a flame war forced him off; someone must have disparaged a Bigsby.
We can only hope it is short lived.
Nah. I’d have noticed.
98% of the time this is exactly what happens.
I don't remember.
If a thread doesn’t appeal to me I don’t comment. To to otherwise, would make me a troll.
I don’t find the “I hate” or “xxxx is overrated” posts to be very interesting or productive.
On the other hand, music creates a joy in people (at least in me) so I understand the “I think xxxx is great” “I love xxxx” posts because I’m listening to something I like and it overwhelms me, I feel like I want to tell someone. Dumping on someone who posts as such seems like trolling. If I don’t agree, I just move on. Why spit on someone sharing their experience?
Blowtorch? Very possible he was blown out for a while by the mods, just as I recently have for simply pointing out an irony.
Over at Steyer Hoffman, criticizing the moderators, or SH himself can get your privileges restricted. Guess who’s privileges have been restricted?
Not on purpose. But if I were discussing the pedals I use, and was compelled, I might share that I in fact do believe most applications of pedals in the field, do in fact impact the signal reaching the amp negatively. And I might suggest a Squier is just as good or superior, if its all you can afford, and you have no need for the superior features of another guitar, unless its not.
I really try to behave myself here. I like this place and I don't want to be the guy to ruin it for everyone.
Stryper. Something from the 80's. Don't troll them.
They had their fifteen minutes. Thankfully that was all.
And to the point- sometimes in a well moderated/adult forum the troll eventually gets ignored until the last gasps are "nobody here likes me!" And they get so few/ little response to their little flamethrower posts that they move on in search of new places to bait.
That is the result of not feeding the trolls.
was there a question?...some where?
Pseudo-anonymity, provocability, and reputational cascade.
The playground has changed where you get your butt kicked when you mouth off.
Some are actively looking for ways to be offended, some are passive aggressive and need some small control.
Jumping on piles and sentiments follow the need to swarm.
Lumpy tributaries of larvae hell-bent on bergtagning.
Villages are taken by their very own bridges.
I can absolutely be a troll, and have become a better person since Yahoo did away with their comments section.
