This one lives near me.
He (or she?) is cool.
Donkeys seem to crave human attention. Animals are cool, just stay clear of the ones that can kill you.
Horses can do a number on you if you aren't careful. So can cows. My grandfather was a large animal vet and I got to help him sometimes. Shetland ponies were the biggest jerks we had to deal with.
I'm scared of horses...I don't mean like I'm phobic....I just mean their size and strength scare me when I'm close to them....haven't been around them much but for me they are unpredictable and they are certainly big and strong enough to do you serious harm. But donkeys seem to have a very different energy than horses do. They seem to have a different emotional makeup if that makes sense. They seem more social in a way that I can understand and feel safe around. I've never met one in person but I've seen a number of donkey videos that have made me really like them.
I too have a healthy respect/fear of horses.
At my advanced stage of, uh, sophistication, I’ve never ridden one, or wanted to.
Beautiful creatures, I’ll admire them from afar.
It's important to know that a "mule skinner" is a mule trainer.
A friend of mine has a small farm with some sheep, goats and a donkey. The donkey protects the other animals from coyotes.
We have goats and pigs and my wife likes to sing to them. They really seem to love it. Their favorite seems to be "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Go figure!
I had a Great Dane that loved the Everly Brothers. there's no explaining some things
I , eye eye eye... eye eye eye..dig a Donkey...
The clan of 'beg'n donkeys' at Custer State Park are famous for their somewhat aggressive panhandling techniques as they work the tourists for treats in the summer months. They'll invite their entire head into your car if you let them. People love them.
