    Flying to TX in a few hours, to visit my Daughter and Son-inlaw that live there. Will be staying in Buda, near Austin.

    Where would be a good place to listen to some country boogie music, and where could we sit and listen to some good blues?

    Looking forward to gettin' to do this. Been a long (unnecessary) while since we've gotten to do this......

    Don't speed. Every time I have been to Texas I have gotten a speeding ticket. Have fun though. Austin is great.

    Continental is a blast. Broken Spoke is a fun dive if you want to scoot.
    Rainey St and 6 St account for multiple entertainment districts depending what your flavor is.

    Get some tacos. Check out some food trucks, ATX is a great food town. Several good sources for event listings online. Weather should be OK. Welcome.

    Well, we're settled outside of Gruene Hall, listening to "The Georges". What a very cool place! And it's great to get to listen to live music, drink beer, & watch folks dance some! 16184435493838341783497151222462.jpg
    Thanks to all here!!

    You’re in the perfect spot. If you’re in the mood for a road trip, go to Luckenbach. Perhaps you’ve heard of it... ;)

    Luckenbach??? I met Waylon once at the Portland airport! That's likely to be as close to Luckenbach as it's gonna git. Don't see gettin' over to there; my daughter is a **** Tour Guide! :lol: She's got the rest of our week pretty well planned......

    @t-ray , and others,

    I like my home in Oregon. But I am lovin' things here in Texas. It's really nice being back in our old, classic sense of "normal", for the most part. I've missed this, and it has done my soul some good to get out a bit. ;)
