Based on his red barnacaster thats actually a wrap. mine is a one piece super light cherry body, seymour duncan quarter pound set pickups, maple neck, compensated brass saddles. love the look of his.
I've seen some great cherry guitars. Its a fantastic hardwood/tonewood from everything i've seen and read, they liken it to Mahogony. Its got great grain that resembles Ash.Nice project, I can't wait to see the rest!
I've never built a cherry guitar, I wonder how easy it is to work and how it sounds...
It looks great but I can't imagine it's all that comfortable to play. D'ya get splinters?Looking forward to your build! I was inspired by Billy Gibbons barncaster as well and ended up with this: View attachment 1079734
Looks fantastic! This is it so far. still a ways to go, but excited.
No Nathan, I used regular water based latex. I will clear coat it about 12 coats to protect the finish. Glad to hear about the cherry. I have enough left to do another one and cant wait. That looks great!
Did you use milk paint?
I have made a few cherry guitars, they sound similar to alder
