I love dogs, and I love seeing how things work, so this animation is just fascinating to me. It also makes me wonder if the Boston Dynamics robo dogs follow the same motion patterns.

That is going to be fun when the dog bots are going to glitch.

That was cool to watch. My dog was on 3 legs for 4-5 days last week:(
I was trying to envision her normal gate without touching down her left hind leg.
Was about to take her to the veterinary when she began tentatively using it; by the
next day it was as if nothing had happened:)

Even on 3 legs she was still chasing deer and squirrels:twisted:

I wish a video like that would show the gate or width difference between the front and back legs as well. Our beloved “labradane” that we just let go of (my new avatar), when sprinting, would have his rear legs so wide that they would touch the ground in front of the front legs... and the front legs would tuck beneath the rear hips at the same time.

I would also like to see how a large breed domesticated dog (Labrador, etc) compares to some of the big cats of the wild... not in speed of course, but comparing apples to apples with the video.

I just had to say goodbye to my own Dane/Lab mix last Thursday. They're great dogs.

Interesting artistic choice to include an obviously male, un-neutered dog for a drawing.

I don't know much about dogs, but how did you guess this was a male with all the equipment dog ? Or maybe this was a joke which eluded me.
