My dog never wants a day off and gets guaranteed time at the park, time in the yard if she sticks around while I do work, truck rides to anywhere when I’m home. When I go off deer hunting for a couple weeks she gets backyard visits when my wife lets her out, and that’s about it.

She’s kinda happy when I show up again. But she is quite the sleeper when duty doesn’t call.

I haven't had dogs in a long while, but when I did, they only took time off when I wasn't home.

Otherwise, they just wanted to be involved in what I was doing. They didn't care what it was, as long as they were part of it.

We don't have a dog anymore, but our cats are never off-line, 'kept if they're sick. We had Cadfael at the vets today, but he's going to be ok, we hope!

I'm gonna have to stop reading you guys' dog threads. My Daisy passed away last year, and I haven't found a suitable replacement, yet. All the shelters seem to have are either Clyde McCoys (you know, "chi-wah-wahs) or big dogs. (really big dogs) I need a "small-medium-sized pet, like a Beagle-type. I know it will come along.....I just need to be patient.

Mine patrol for all the same threats. Squirrel attacks, plastic bags, the shifty looking UPS/FedEx guy, unauthorised birds, the yard guy...etc.
They didn't even wake up during my car break in last month.
Here they are, hard at it performing Synchronized Sleeping.

My dogs never took time off, they always wanted me to be doing stuff. They even followed me up and down the lawn when mowed, but boy I miss 'em. :(

My dogs aren't binary. They are always simultaneously both on and off.

My dog takes nights off sleeping on one of his 4 luxurious beds and takes days off to sleep on one of the others. That’s right 4 beds and a cot out on the porch. My wife has a dog bed buying addiction.

Our dog Lucy in terms of bonding is really my son's dog ( we live in his apt.) - so she loves us, but she REALLY LOVES my son!

We are with Lucy all the time here ( my wife is disabled and since I gig and drive Uber. I'm always coming and going, but home a lot too)

So now my son is working from home, on laptop, and Lucy is his Assistant.
She is in HEAVEN! ( and he's going nuts)
