My parts tele weighs in at 7.2 lbs
and my MIJ Strat from '88 weighs 8 lbs.
But I always think that strat feels a lot heavier.
Heaviest guitar is without my Washburn Falcon, and the lightest is my Epiphone Wilshire. It's even lighter than my Epi SG.

No option for weighs about the same? Mine do, 8.2lbs Strat, 8.25lbs Tele, both MIM.

My (Indonesian) Squier VM Custom II is 7lbs and I'm always amazed at how much different and lighter 1lb difference feels, mind boggling to be honest.

I have an original 1974 USA Strat and a 1991 reissue 1952 Telecaster. I think the Tele weighs double the Strat.
But since I don't want to talk my guitars into weight issues (they are girls) I won't be putting them on scales. ;)

My CIJ Tele '52RI w/F Bigsby weighs a friggin' ton. I took off the Bigsby 'cause of restringing hassle and it STILL weighs a ton. A slab of Swamp Ash. I was in fact just this week looking into lighter Warmoth Tele bodies or a way of chambering( or whatever) the existing body. I'd say it weighs more than my LP!!
My MIM Muddy Waters Tele which is advertised as Ash is light as a feather. Very easy to handle .
My MIJ Squire Strat also basswood is also light as a feather.

I have 2 Strats, 1 Fender Tele and 1 G&L Tele. My Fender Tele (57 reissue) is much lighter than the others

My 1997 American Standard Stratocaster weighs 8.6 pounds.

My 2009 parts Telecaster weighs 7.4 pounds. Single piece ash body, maple 7.25 radius neck, Seymour Duncan pickups.

I’ve owned (and built) a good number of both models.
In my experience, the biggest factor when it comes to weight is the density of the body wood - especially if it’s an ash body. I’ve seen incredibly light ash, and ridiculously heavy ash. I’ve found that I prefer a very light ash body with a chunky hard maple neck - super resonant.
Because I’m very selective of the wood I use, both my strats & teles generally run 6 to 6.5 lbs.

Still, everything else being equal, the strat will slightly outweigh the Tele because of the hardware (between a vintage-spec steel tremolo block and extra pickup, you’ll probably add more than 1/2 a pound).

The difference between my swamp ash tele & poplar esquire in & of itself is more than a pound. I think the question is too broad.

MIM Tele is just over 9lbs and AmPro Strat is just over 7lbs. I specifically shopped for the lighter Strat after playing the heavy Tele for so long.

My Squier weighs more than my MIA Tele. I was surprised. Maybe coming from California it has less water weight (if that's possible). We are so humid here right now.

I've been assembling another parts telecaster. It's not quite finished but I think the MIM Fender body may be a bit heavier than the rest of my teles & strats.

My 2017 Amer Pro tele (ash) weighs 7.0 pounds (love it nice and light), my 2013 Amer Std strat (alder) weighs in at 8.1 pounds.
    Both have added locking tuners.
