that's true. the body is alone in that context and needs some clarification.

but consider an ibanez talman - there's s-style and t-syle - and the body shape/neck do not change.

and different debate going on in this vid, but I submit exhibit A, haha:

That green body with the turtle neck and a nice brown tortoise shell pickguard would make a great partscaster!

I like the body and the neck. The bridge and pick up configuration should be getting the Tele sound. It's a cool guitar and not too common

I started watching this but somehow the video started in the middle, and so when I saw his pickups and electronics attached to a fence post, I shook my head and had to get back to work

The bridge plate and bridge pickup are the core of a T-type if you ask me, so I'd say heck yeah! As long as you enjoy it, rock on my friend, I'm sure it does that hybrid picking tele twang I love so much as well.

It's very cool! I'd live it. But my first reaction is 'not' a "T-style".

Very cool guitar with Telecaster pick-up and bridge configuration. Probably sounds and plays just like a 'Tele.

But if you say "T-style" my first reaction is to expect something that looks like a Tele but doesn't (and can't) say 'Fender' on the headstock.

Doesn’t look like a Tele to me, so no.

I totally see where you're coming from. I'm not getting hot and bothered by these discussions. Some prefer to base it on appearance and non-Fender logos like you, and some days I saw "nah it's all about how they sound and respond while playing them." Best news is that it's Friday and we can just have a beer and enjoy some music that they make!

It's whatever you want it to be. IMHO, as long as it's got that bridge pickup and bridge plate you're at least in the right universe.;)

If you do build it, I hope you'll post pictures. I think it would be fantastic!

    It's a Fender-style guitar for sure.

In order to answer that question, you need to define what you mean by "T style."

    Tonally? Then yes.

    Aesthetically? Then mostly no.

I don’t care if Fender makes it. That’s not a Tele. It has Tele hardware and electronics but it’s not a Tele. Cool tho.

I affectionally call such creations “Tele-B*stards”…

    I dig ‘em.

I wish I had built my Strat that way. At least it would feel right hanging from a strap.

Sorry to disappoint, but it ain't happening. I just recently traded that neck as part of a deal. I'm sure I'll ultimately regret it.
