i have a thought in my head with the telecaster i'm buying, of using a Lace sensor blue (ala Jonny Greenwood) in the neck and an A5 bridge pickup. that to me would actually sound kinda awesome in the middle section lol

I have a Seymour Duncan Jerry Donahue bridge paired with a Lollar Firebird neck, wired to a 5-way with with Tele Special wiring. I don't know if it qualifies as an odd pairing or not, but I can say that it works very nicely.

I have a Strat with a Duncan JB Humbucker at the bridge and a P-90 at the neck. I want to swap them out for a Lollar Chicago at the bridge and a Gold Foil at the neck. I play slide on this guitar.

Twangking bridge and GFS Fatbody neck in one tele. Not a great combo, although each sound great on their own. Don't know that they compliment each other, though. Also somehow the neck lost a little sonic depth when I added a 4 way switch. Don't really understand why that is

(I don't have a picture of just the one guitar, so here it is (on the left) hangin' on my wall)

Telemaster: mid 60s Gold Foil in the neck and don Mare super sport at the bridge.

Nashville Tele: Filtertron neck, Lollor BF strat middle, Fralin SP 42 bridge

Tele: Charlie Christian neck, Zhangbucker paul bunyon bridge

There's no weird or wrong as far as I'm concerned. Fender guitars are made to be f'd with.

A SD Lil 59 in the lead, and a Fralin SP43 in the neck. I've got Tele tones, HB overdrive, Stratish sounds, and close to a P90. I couldn't be happier with one guitar.

Dimarzio Area T paired with a Pre-B1 in my Tele, for no reason other than that I wanted to try that combo. It gives me some good sounds

I have a Steinberger with two EMG 81s.

Now that is an odd pickup pairing with an odd guitar for someone on a telecaster discussion board, I guess.

I have 'nother Steiny with an EMG FT tele neck pickup and EMG 60 at bridge.

    Even weirder.
