i found this cool website but they are kind of expensive to make painting templates...i dont want to spend 30-40 bucks a template....was wondering how easy it is to either make them myself or find someone in the states...

Ask the motorcycle or car guys. Vinyl graphics are quite popular these days.
The custom car shops will know who and where I should think.
They have a shop that does stuff like that in my little rinky dink town of 4,000.
I used to get all kinds of decals made which were company specific for fleet cars/trucks and equipment. All they needed was a picture.

Are you looking for printed graphics that you can stick onto your guitar or simply a custom cut mask to use for painting?

netgear has your answer. You can buy vinyl "tape" in sheets. Tape it to a piece of glass, draw the design, cut it out with an exacto knife, and you're rockin'.

I did the same thing to sandblast designs into stained glass.

If the OP asks around he will find a place.

There are 17,000 people in my COUNTY and I know of 3 places that can cut vinyl stencils.

But...they may well cost 30-40 dollars each.

That equipment isn't cheap and time is money. :)
