Does anybody know what kind of guitar Jeff is playing here?

He’s on the tele-ish playing lead

I think the Variax gets unduly slammed. I had the Variax Bass for 4-5 years, and I liked it very much. I only sold it to raise money for a wildly expensive drumkit, and I didn't replace it because I got an EB0 and fell madly in love with it. I would buy a Variax guitar if I didn't already own a bunch of the guitars it models. I may very well buy a Variaz Acoustic if I find one for a decent price.

Here's the key - did my bass sound exactly whatever instrument it was modelling? I don't know. I doubt it. Did it have an enormous amount of tone variation? Absolutely.

If you think of it as a guitar with 20+ different pickups rather than a replacement for your 60s Strat, you can get a lot of mileage out of a Variax.
