Does alnico 5 single coil pull more on strings in bridge position or neck position?

Couldn't find an answer to this online, so I'm just wondering if I should potentially look for an Alnico 2 single coil pickup for bridge position of my strat-ish guitar build.
I'm currently thinking of getting Virtual Vintage 54 Pro for neck position
https://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/hum-canceling-strat/virtual-vintage-54-pro
and Virtual Vintage Blues for bridge position
https://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/hum-canceling-strat/virtual-vintage-blues
I think (but could be wrong) that these will work well together, but am just wondering if Alnico 5 magnet in bridge position could potentially pull a bit too much on the strings, reducing sustain.
My instinct tells me that this would be more of a potential problem in the neck position, but Just curious to hear what some experts on the subject think.

I'm no expert, but I wouldn't worry about any of this stuff. It can happen, and does with a Dynasonic with huge, modern A5 poles, but I simply lower the coil and magnets. Adjust the pickup heights by ear and go play :)

A5 magnets are in tons of pickups. Pickup height is more of a concern regarding string vibration duration that the actual magnet in my opinion. I've been messing with guitars for 30 years and have never heard this question come up before. There's probably a reason.

Yeah, I had a feeling it would make negligible difference. I was just curious, cheers.

The only people to run into that problem are the guys that have to adjust their pickups as high as they can get them.

That's great for output volume, but thin/shrill treble tone is often the result. You could raise a pickup with A2 or A3 mags close without as much of that Strat-itis issue.

I like to adjust my pickups low to medium height for good tone with A5/A2/A3 magnets and let the amp handle the volume. If your not getting enough volume from the amp, then it's time to upgrade the amp.

The stronger the magnet the greater the pull, so, yes, an pickup with A5 magnets will create more pull than one made with weaker (A2, A3) magnets.

But in practice the pull is much more of an issue the closer the pickup gets to the center of the string. I don't think I've ever noticed significant string pull from a bridge pickup. It's just too close to the anchor point at the bridge to matter.

I've never had a problem with string pull at all, so maybe I'm not the best person to ask, but IMO it's not worth worrying about for a pickup in the bridge position.

Theoretically, the greater the string movement, the greater the pull a pickup has on it, so the neck position could suffer more. But that's just because the string moves closer to the magnet. Practically, unless the pickups are really high, it doesn't matter that much if you have A2 or A5.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was thinking; that cos the bridge pickup is so close to an anchor point, is even less of a concern.
