Do you think Fender will make a gloss black American Ultra Telecaster?

I’ve been wanting a glossy black American telecaster with a chrome pickguard for awhile. The new Ultra has everything I’d want, and that Texas Tea looks pretty cool but in some videos it looks dark Brown or goldfish green. If it had little silver flecks instead of gold, that would be great. Do you think they will ever make one with all of those same appointments but in black?

if a guitar has everything you want, how important is the the color really anyway. Do the little gold flecks sound worse than the little silver flecks or something?

Build your own, in any color you like!

I find much of the Ultras appeal is just the colors they're made in. I do not forsee a gloss black one.

Maybe look into the piano black Japanese teles from the late 80s/early 90s? I think those were black and chrome.

Look for an Elite. Similar specs and it came in Mystic Black (= slight silvery sparkle in the black). They did this one with maple or ebony fingerboard.

Pretty important considering the availability of different finishes and a good percentage of posts on here.

Just go Mod Shop. The only thing you can’t get is the compound radius neck and shaved heel. Would that be a deal breaker?

You can choose from a few different necks, whatever color you want, and you can get the noiseless pickups and locking tuners. If I buy another Fender it’ll probably be a Mod Shop.

Gold flakes should give a more mellow tone than silver but it will depend on their size and orientation.

No. But I’ve bought a couple guitars through the Mod Shop.

I have bought small parts for builds. Ferrules, screws, etc from Fender just because it’s always in stock.

But my point is you can have Fender assemble an American Tele in any color you want and choose your neck and pickups and guard and some hardware. And it includes a case and arrives in a few weeks. It’s a couple hundred bucks premium over an Am Pro but it’s unique and it’s a serial numbered Fender.

The Texas Tea looks great IMO.
The gloss black “Tuxedo” Custom 62’s were gorgeous! Gloss black with binding is killer!!
