This is the type of question that causes most people to affirm themselves... regardless of reality.

I'm always second-guessing myself, so, yes! Sometimes I like to play contrarian but I generally don't hold on dearly to any one perspective.

Yes, yes I do, and after all these years, I don’t know why I ever bothered.

Only when seeking advice. Otherwise, I'm pretty darn sure of myself ;)

In all sincerity- I think you'd have to admit you've grown from doing so

My wife often says I think too much.

She doesn't mean this as a compliment.....

I'm glad you agree, GT. I was worried there for a moment that you'd join the several billion who are never quite as right as I am.

When I was a social worker, one of my (intellectually challenged, I guess is the current term) clients used to barge into staff meetings to announce, "Hey, everyone--just remember, I'm the most reasonable person I know. I always agree with me."

He was angling for fewer hygiene requirements and more leisure time, so if he got us to believe that he was inherently correct....

With no context given, sounds like the kind of troll threads I ignore. But having just typed a response in the 'deal negotiation' thread, it seemed pertinent. Because yes, understanding what the other party needs, and doesn't need, is key to making a deal. The best deals are win-win, but we often assume the other guynwants what we do, so the only way to win is by getting one over somehow.

I have not found this to be the case. I also think it's important to show a bit of my hand to the other fellow. Here's what I really need to do.... sometimes it may not seem relevant, but just like there's no such thing as 'casual sex', all chat during a negotiation has meaning.

If we all agreed about everything, this would be a rather boring planet ...
