Fender all the way for me. Lots of different ones are wonderful.
I like lots of music played on Vox amp but I personally could never find a sound that I liked.

I'm a Fender guy too. Vox makes it's great sounds, but it is just not me.

WHAT Fender amps? They are way to many types and extremely different sounding between them.

Personally I prefer the tweeds over over the Voxes but the Voxes (the handwired and the old PCB made in the UK ones not the recent MIC ones) over the black & silver face Fenders.

But my all time favorite tele amp ,especially for cleans,is the Marshall 1974x..

I have them set in preference order from left to right in my studio :)

    Laney!

Of the two choices given though, Fender style. Vox, to me like Marshalls, sound great when others play them. Not so much with me though.
I am utterly enamoured by the wide variety of tones my Champ-a-like gives. Need more power?, plug into the Laney and rock.
However, don't we all need to keep the economy churning by buying/building lots of amps?, I do my part, now do yours!

It depends on the music I am playing. I am currently in a project that is Americana/alt-countryish, and I do a lot of strumming with an edge of breakup tone on a Tele and for that project my AC30 is perfect, and a Fender just doesn't work at all.
So I do love both, but I may have to give the edge to vintage reverbed-out Black/Silverface Fender cleans in my heart of hearts....

I know this may be subjective. People often talk about fender clean sound and Marshall clean sound.

Is there a huge difference between thoose clean characters and is it dependable on the tubes setup.

I can understand you, sometimes i played with two amps, it's so wonderful but too much work to bring them around.

Ok, for breakup tone the Vox are very good but if i think of Americana music i only see fender, with a good overdrive maybe you can get a nice edge break up as well

I understand but i mean in general, let's say i love the blackface models, when we say fender sound we know what we mean more or less, clean and sparkling, Vox it's a bit different.

Tried them all. EL84 and 6V6 amps but for me the sound is 6L6 with EL34 close behind.
So that's a bigger tweed or blackface and/or a Marshall variant.
I never really bonded with Vox.

Had both Fender and Vox amps in the past. Now just have clones - Morgan AC20 Deluxe and Swart STR Tweed -which, imho, sound so much better. If I had to choose it would definitely be the Vox inspired Morgan. It sounds awesome with every guitar I put through it. Still love the Swart, though. It’s got the best cleans I’ve heard.

Very few Fender amps I don't like, very few Vox amps I do like, so if we're averaging things out I'd choose Fender. That said, my current amp is a Vox AD50VT and paired with my 60s Classic Tele it's a great match.

I prefer my Blackheart. In my defense, it's the amp I have and I like it very much.
