Attention residents of PA. and NJ. You ve undoubtedly heard of Delawares plans to mine the river and build a wall along our 12 mile semi-circle northern border, but the real reason you should consider not retiring here is the dreaded "Blue Hens Chickens". A vicious group of native Delawarean assassins who are attacking new arrivals, especially property tax refugees. Originally from Massachusetts, I m very careful how I say park the car and always remember that frog and log rhyme.

Mrs. LutherBurger (native New Yorker): "Where do you want to live when we retire?"

    LutherBurger (native Texan): "New Mexico."

Mrs. LutherBurger: "Florida it is, then."

I think I'll be a reverse snowbird, so I can spend the summers in a cooler climate.

Plus, I need to pay our northern winter visitors back for the years of slow driving and bad tipping every winter in AZ. ;)

We both retired several years back and live in a dry climate where we have few allergies. Due to our kids and grandkids, we will soon be moving closer to where they live. It is hot, humid and allergies with every breath. We want to be around our grandkids more.

Heck, I plan on moving before I retire so that I can afford to retire. The cost of living here is just too damned high.

I wanted to retire and move to the Caribbeans, Florida Keys, and finally decided we'd settle on Houston.

Mother Nature is really trying to discourage that right now.

I'll be moving about 1147ft to one end of the same property to a new house. Hopefully before retirement though.

I'm definitely moving when I retire. Out of the tour van and into the house. Permanently. I just hope I get there before I die.

I planned on moving to Arkansas from California when I retired. My wife and daughter talked it all over, and decided we'd stay in California.

I'm 55, wife just turned 39 last week and we just bought a new house last October so I don't see moving anytime soon. Our daughter is a sophomore in high school so we'll stay put at least 3 more years. My kids and grand kids from a previous marriage are also local.

House is paid off but California is too expensive so yeah, we plan on moving at the end of next year. Likely back to Missouri but Colorado beckons as well.

Retired in April 2014 and happy to remain in Katy, Texas (25 miles West of downtown Houston) where I have lived the past 21 years. There is one caveat, if the grandkids should relocated then most likely so would the wife and I.

    Yes.
When I (ever) get around to it (retiring), I want to live on Vancouver Island.
    I'm not exactly sure where.
