Any Boss pedals out there? $30 used Metal Zone? $1,000 multi-effects? Looper? Overdrive? Spankin’ new? Vintage?

I have a long chip BOSS DD-3. Yes, I believe I can hear a difference between the later models. Give the long chip a try. The prices are still reasonable.

As few as possible. They are tone sucking beasts. But I keep going back to them again and again because they actually sound fairly awesome.

I wish I could quit you, Boss.

I have two: FRV-1 which I like a lot, and a TR-2 which I hardly ever use but sounds OK.

    DS-1, CH-2, PH-3 and a TU-3...the PH-3 is a tone sucker but it's fun. Otherwise great pedals!

Sure, rotated a few. I still have My First Pedal, ok not really first but first stomp box—a DS-1

    DM-3s, ME-50, ME-70, GT-1, MIJ BF-2 for Robert smith impressions, ES-5, FRV-1s, TR-2, BD-2 ...I don’t know. What’s the question again?

    BD-2 and RV-6.

As I’ve mentioned in another Boss-centric thread, I’m going with an all-Boss board. Though to be honest, I did start noticing some tone suck when I introduced a third pedal.

Might either enjoy keeping things simple, or try a third pedal again with a DM-2w or CS-3, and/or get a true bypass switcher. But that kind of defeats the purpose of keeping things simple.

TU-2 and OD-3 on my board, DS-1 in my gig bag in case of emergencies. Others include BD-2, GE-7, NS-2, and more that I’m probably forgetting. Boss pedals are great and anybody who says different is living in error.

    I own 7 but only play 6.

    FZ-2, HM-2, DS-1, MT-2, BF-3, ODB-3. And the much hated ML-2.

It's clear that even numbers are preferred. Maybe they are best in pairs.

An OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion, seriously hacked to make it sound decent, but I still don't really use it.

A Boss ME-5, nice effects back then in the 90s. I still have it, but it suffered from moist rehearsal rooms and probably doesn't fully work. Hmm, maybe time to try it....

PS. Used to own CS-2 and OD-1. Sold them years ago and ended up regretting it. Replaced them with a Keeley 4-Knob Compressor and a JHS Bonsai, which IMHO were good replacements.

I have two locally-built boost/distortion pedals, and three other name-brand factory effects pedals.

The one BOSS pedal I have is the venerable CS3 Compression Sustainer.

    :)

(The two on the right are my Beat Buddy drum pedals.)
