    Yes, I've read Trainspotting, Filth and Maribou Stork. I got tired of his style after that. I think he wore his outrageous shock plots out. Still, he made a lot of money out of his books and films so my opinion doesn't mean much.

    I read the 2 last trainspotting books, i have the first one but haven't read it yet.
    Pretty depressing.

    Yep. I have read Trainspotting, Filth, Glue and Porno. Ok at the time, I guess.
    For the ultimate misery paired with humour, I prefer Charles Bukowski.

    Trainspotting was sordid but hilarious. What followed has its moments. But esseff's right. The shock wears off after a few books. One every couple of years will probably hold you.

    I found him pretty forgettable.
