This bunch??? More like 12!Oh we need to be 48 to join. ? Lol.
Was this site your inspiration. ?I joined in January 2021 and did not own a Fender Telecaster at the time. The only Fender product I had was a P-bass, not counting my Squier Strat.
I got a Player Tele in January 2022, a year and 12 days after coming here.
I love my Telecaster.
Wher is Strait music. ? We just got Guitar Centers out here where I live. 10 years ago lolI’ve only had 1 home inspection since I joined. But had a couple hours notice so I had time to run to Strait Music.
Wait. My son started playing at 10. LolThis bunch??? More like 12!![]()
Always wanted one of thoseHa! Welcome aboard.
My second Tele *is* a virtual one.. a Variax![]()
Ha, yes. I am fortunate to have a lot of great music shops near me in Austin. There are Several worth a stop if you are ever in town for a visit. Was this site your inspiration. ?

Are the Gin Blossoms still around. ?I got roped into going to see the Gin Blossoms in Gulfport. The show, however, was canceled (as well as all of their remaining dates) because the bassist broke his arm in an accident. My fiancee's sister and brother-in-law had planned all of this and invited us there. They own a condo in Biloxi. We spent the weekend there with them anyway.
I like to play poker, but I don't care for playing at buy-in tables. I don't remember seeing any of that in the casinos while we were there anyway. It's all about the slots (although I saw a lot of people at craps tables), and I could care less about that.
I think 40% of my guitars are Fenders or Fender copies.I have several Telecaster-style guitars, a couple of (modded) Fender Esquires, and some genuine Telecaster pieces (a neck, a body, some pickups, etc.) but I haven't had a proper Telecaster in years! Welcome!
Thanks I ll remember that.Ha, yes. I am fortunate to have a lot of great music shops near me in Austin. There are Several worth a stop if you are ever in town for a visit.
Nope …the bars. Buying one a guitar sounds like something I d do after I ve had a few. Lol.Going to the casinos?
I repainted a tobacco Fender Mustang. Back in the 70’s when I took the guitar into the shop I bought it from to have it refretted the old timer looked at me and screamed. “ what did you do tho this guitar ? You ruined it “ how was. I to know he did not like the color magenta. ?I looked up my introduction to the forum:
"Hi. I don't currently have a Telecaster, but I will have another one before too long.
I did, however, destroy the value of a 1968 Pink Paisley by refinishing it in 1976 (I thought I did a pretty good job).I hope that doesn't disqualify me from joining this forum".

All you need are pictures.....welcomeI’ve been aware of this forum for the better part of 20 years (which sounds crazy to say out loud) as i’d been a regular on Fender Talk and there were a few guys there who would reference this place regularly. I never signed up - just because juggling multiple message groups seemed like a lot.. and I was pretty Stratocaster oriented at the time.
Fast forward to 2022 and i was googling trying to find a Blackface Bassman eyelet board template and came across a 5 year old post from Phrygian77 saying he had the presence of mind to scan the boards from his Mojotone build (wish i’d thought to do that with my Princeton Reverb build!) and here I am.
Not sure if owning a Tele is a requisite for membership.. I *do* have a Tele inspired home built geetar.. I think the only Fender parts on it are the locking tuners that came off a Jeff Beck Strat (and I think those are just rebranded Schallers)
Anywhoo.. i’m a 48 year old guy who likes dinkin’ around with guitars and amps and pickin’ and grinnin’. I’m not very good at any of it, but I’m havin’ fun.![]()
...... if you're not very good at grinnin', you'll have to put in some practice.Anywhoo.. i’m a 48 year old guy who likes dinkin’ around with guitars and amps and pickin’ and grinnin’. I’m not very good at any of it, but I’m havin’ fun.![]()
Photos, or it didn’t happen!Welcome!
I haven't owned a Tele for over 35 years, sshhhhh...
Oh I was not sure how recent that was. Sorry. I still talk about the Foreigner REO concert I went to in the late 70’s.How else would we have been going to see them?
Wow. You owned Teles back in the 80 ‘s ? The oldest Fender I own is a 1989 Deluxe Tele with 2 humbuckers. You said that out loud!!!
Yep, acquired a pretty battered white(ish) Tele in 1981, for not a lot of money. It was a late 60s model, I think a 68. We didn't really consider these things too much back then.Wow. You owned Teles back in the 80 ‘s ? The oldest Fender I own is a 1989 Deluxe Tele with 2 humbuckers.
