They're just named after me and then however many appropriate juniors follow. It's wild.
Do you name your guitars?
Yes, for some of them, but the DIY ones only...
The Minerva Verde :
The Orange Blossom Special :
The SuperCharger :
The Tempest, Cyclone and tornado :
No. Tried it once but it felt too weird
I call them all Super.
"Where's that Super Tele?", I'll say.
Or, "How's the Super Les Paul today?"
It's great for their self-esteem.
Epic stable there. /Salute
Each to their own, but I cringe with embarrassment when ppl anoint their new guitar with some silly name. Especially if it is a female name.
Mine are just.... The red one, the blonde one, the hot rail one, the sparkly one, etc. Just descriptive.
I’ve never had proper names for my fiddles. I call them by what they are:
Les Paul Custom
I name mine, but not necessarily a name you would give a person.
only one my 96 american black strat her name is "Blood and Guts Special" because when I got her there were only 3 strings on her , and she was slathered in a ton of Bio diversity, I supect , beer , and other unidentifiable liquids of an organic nature, as well as several unidentifiable bodily fluids , requieing a complete strip down of all patrs and pieces , acomplete bath of all parts and resultant setting up , I went full "Fendergyrl", on that project ( in reference to the absolute oustanding work she does on her guitars, much respect)
My guitars are free to name themselves, don't get me wrong, and to talk amongst each other.
But I won't hang a name on them myself.
Who needs that pressure?
Thanks! Been hanging around here for awhile, seems like a great community. Thought I'd make it official. Plenty of knowledge here hope I can contribute occasionally!
welcome aboard, have fun and dive in Of course we need pics of your guitars and set up this is manditory , most of us cant read , so we need pics!
excellant collection of lefties too cool
I don't have a lot to show off but kinda unique! I'll post pics when I get a chance.
My wife gave me my thinline. My avatar. Her names on it. So that one has a name.
Red, BrownSugar, Merlin, Ace, Alice, and Blondie.
Yes, the yellow one, the white one, the out of tune one, the other out of tune one. When they all become the 'out of tune one' its time for a new one.
Two of mine have names...
The old veteran...
My 1931 0028 Martin
