My Wife used to buy fresh salmon at the fish market, but you had to eat it almost right away. Now she buys wild caught sockeye frozen, and we can eat it when we want. It pretty much tastes the same as fresh. And yes, I love salmon!

One of the people who watch the cams all day counted this bear catching 118 salmon in about six hours. He’s back in the same spot today, and has a buffet at his feet.

Fat Bear Week is going to epic this year!

Naah, never really developed a taste for it. I understand it is kind of a delicacy and expensive, but it just never turned me tool. I do like other fish and seafood though.

I've never liked fish. But 30 years ago my first wife, who was in the travel business, took me on a Princess cruise to Alaska. Salmon was served constantly and I tried to fit in with the other passengers.
But I bleeping hated it.
And I've never had a bite since.

Being inland in Utah fresh salmon is expensive. But that being said I do have a friend who brings home a few stakes of salmon every now and again. I’ll get the call, pay him a quick visit to help him unload the catch. A few favors are exchanged here and there. And he asks for no payment.
Fresh is best but don’t tell that to the steaks I have in the freezer.

I like salmon fine. It is not my favorite fish... they are not super flavorful unless wild caught.... I smoke a lot of salmon every year... but I'd rather have its cousin, trout or lots of other fish instead of salmon. But, the bears are bulking up and salmon in alaska are plentiful.

Salmon is a regular item in our home. We like it baked with pesto and lemon on top or pan-seared with cajun seasoning.

I love all those species. I really miss eating Grouper. I had it regularly when sailing over there or in restaurants. I used to catch small Sierra Mackerel and they are good grilled, nice and oily.
A couple of other species that are quite good, Atlantic cod for fish & chips, but I also like top sail/channel Southern fried catfish. Could be more for the beer battered & deep fried cooking though.

Nighttime is the right time for being able to see all the salmon. They are stacked like the proverbial cord wood in the foreground of this screen grab.

I like salmon, and have it several times a month. I don't buy Atlantic salmon or farmed fish of any variety. But in the '90's I could buy whole salmon for a dollar a pound! Kroger's regional distribution hub sent a hundred salmon a week to all their stores. The local store's shoppers preferred catfish, tilapia, or anything but salmon. So the seafood manager was forced to almost give them away. I would buy two 10 to11 pound fish, cut them in 3" steaks, marinade and smoke them. We would eat one that night, then it was smoked salmon omelets and stew for days. I've never eaten so well and so cheaply.
