I have a nice guest room and a great Weber grill at the new Condo. You’re welcome anytime.

It’s not really doable at an affordable price point. It’s got an odd sized neck pocket so it would be a total one-off custom order.

Yeah, I’d rather just keep it whole since it’s a total one off creation to begin with. It makes more sense to me to just procure a guitar I enjoy playing.

    2 x Strat
    2 x Tele
    2 x LP
    1 x Esquire
    1 x SG

Way way too many for my ability, but I’d love to add a 335, Firebird and a Danelectro.

Currently 10: a tele, a jazzmaster, a strat, an SG, an LP, an archtop, a 335, a middle of the road spanish, a concert spanish, a jazz bass.

I’m getting rid of the LP, the jazzmaster, the jazz bass, the middle of the road spanish. maybe the concert guitar someday, but it’s practically unsellable, so might as well enjoy it. The strat and SG are sentimental (first real guitar, first workhorse) so I’ll leave them at my chord-scratching old man’s house for him to mess around with until he leaves this earth.

The tele, 335, and archtop take care of all my bases and the only ones that are lifelong players. I will probably replace the J bass with a P or a mustang at some point, and right now maybe I’m about to buy a bass vi. I sort of want a backup for the tele, and that’s either going to be a thinline or a legit CIJ or vintera JM (only have a basswood squier now) - but realistically, do I really need it? I wouldn’t mind having a giant 17” budget German archtop for steel string acoustic duties but I’m not banking on it. Basically, a tool for every job, like a kitchen knife set. I don’t like having doubles or having them for the sake of having them.

That’s where I’m at. I often wonder if it would be cool to own a Dano or a supro or a firebird, but when I sit and think hard about it, there’s no real point. I think my stable is full enough. I just want only what I need.

My wife has more guitars and basses than I do. Your flow chart has a flaw.

    Mathematics are always right, so:

If Y = the optimal amount of guitars and X = the amount of guitars you currently own, then Y = X + 1

Some of them just collect dust, so yeah probably .. but on the other hand I really do like having options and they do make me happy, so ... :)

I don't have much in term of duplicates

From Fender it's a Tele, Strat, Jazzmaster

And the 3 other solidbodies by assorted brands are best described by their pups:
    2xP90, 3xmini-humbucker, 2xhumbucker.

Also two archtops .. A two pup thinline and a single pup full depth one.

I used to have more (too many) guitars but I ended up in the front seat with 7 of em all wrapped around me driving in pouring rain hoping to get out before the rising tides took it all me and me car for a swim..got just what I can carry now about 4 or 5 various guitars . I can get 5 in the front seat with me and the gf got to ride in the back with the rest of the cats and the litter box :)

the past few 10's of years the theme has been "Evacuate" every time a storm comes thru. I only ran once and got stuck in it. We dont run anymore.

but just in case I got the guitars all covered..
