Do you have an all time favorite guitar solo that was played on a Telecaster?

    I can think of lots of great guitar solos played on telecasters. What are some of ya'lls favorites. List some of them, so the rest of us can check them out. :)

    Don't know if it is an all time favourite but I really dig the solo Springsteen plays in NY when performing 41 shots for the very first time

    David Gilmour's solo in Pink Floyd's 'Time'. A Strat into an Echoplex into a Big Muff into a Hiwatt...I think. Anyway, it's as close to perfection as it gets for me.

    Though Stairway may be the single most over-exposed
    rock song in history Page's "composed" solo is indeed a masterpiece.
    Was his "Dragon" Tele a 58?
    I thought it had a rosewood fingerboard.
    Maybe he did use a 58, I wasn't there.:rolleyes::)

    Springsteen's solo in "Backstreets" is one of my favorites:

    And if I am not mistaken, the marvelous guitar solo on the single version of "Let it Be" is played on Harrisons's rosewood telecaster.

    I agree with all of those being great solos. Check out Ray Flacke's 2 solos on One Way Rider. Its on the studio version by Skaggs.(if you haven't already heard it.)

    I can't believe I'm the first to mention the most amazing solo on a Tele (I don't know if Ry Cooder's "ghost fingers" count on "Crossroads"? Could be No1)...BUT, I refer to Danny Diaz's stellar solo in Steely Dan's "Reeling in the Years". Seen on "In Concert" centuries ago (before Fagen said, "No more live shows"), Diaz cranks his Tele note-for-note for the live audience to good measure. The major "box" that opens the solo, to me is one of only half a dozen No1 iconic riffs. ("I could do that! I could do that!" say the nine guitarists watching another guitarist change a light bulb)

    he also used his LEWIS guitar built for him by Bill Lewis in Vancouver on that tune, if you see Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii he plays the parts for time etc

    also he used a binson echorec exclusively

    Tie - "Hello Marylou" and "Fools Rush In". Both by James Burton. Not only my favorite Tele solos, but also my favorite solos on any guitar by any player.
