Boy do I have stuff, wood, tools, guitars, amps, you name it. I used to be in sales in the hardware business and still have all kinds of samples that are just too good to throw out. The most useless things are those parts cabinets with the pull out drawers, I always have to open most of the drawers to not find what I was looking for.

Crown Royal purple sacks. I have one filled with old socks, the rest just pile up in the garage.

Collecting stuff is awesome, I have a good 2 handfuls of clocks laying around the house. Mostly vintage stuff I've found at thrift stores, analog, digital. Doesn't matter. Some things intrigue people and without that we would never have any inspiration!

Here's one my grandfather gave me, taken from his boat a few decades ago. IMG_20200616_221342.jpg

Tools. Especially old ones. I have a 6" wide hand plane with handles on either sides, a finger plane and even my grandfather's ( who passed in 1952) stone mason chisels. I hoard any tool I can get and some people who know me well give such tools to me.

I used to keep the boxes of everything I buy - 'just in case' it breaks, or to 'add value' if I try to sell it years later. It drives my wife nuts as we have/had an attic and garage full of years old boxes, in many cases for items that have long since broken and been disposed of.

I have got better recently, with a great box purge happening every 6 months or so.

So...every time I walk in the back door.....I empty my pockets...Keys, phone, wallet, etc.. all go to their respective places...(we have a shelf setup with many small sections, set up for all kinds of knick-knack stuff..right inside the back door.)
Change....goes into a coffee can/container. When the container was full...I'd stick it on a shelf in the back of my closet.
I did this for *many* years.....(to many)...until I started running out of room on my closet shelf.

Didn't really realize how much I had until I pulled it all out.

Sorted everything by denomination (ie: pennies, nickles, dimes etc...)

    took it to the bank.....

    IMG_20181121_120649342.jpg

    Had over $2,200 in change.....

Twist tie is one of the most useful things on this earth. I always have one of these rolls in the toolbox. Good for organizing cables, fishing wire through stuff, holding car parts/hoses out of your way - never be without it.

That would be an AWESOME photo art print, enlarged and hanging on a gallery wall.

Do stems and seeds count? I seem to have an ever expanding collection.

As it turns out, friends, the only thing I've ever seen anyone store in the metal 35mm film cans is stems, seeds, & the rest. So that ties together those posts.

I let my art gallery membership lag so would have to submit again and be judged.
I used to sell some photos, but wasn't fully committed to "being an artist".

This is me. I have a cedar chest filled with old t-shirts. My armoire that I keep everyday clothes in is probably 90% t-shirts also.

Used to have about 15 banker's boxes full of old car, guitar, music magazines stored in my back shed. A few years ago I started giving them away...at least until the bugs got into them, at which point they went in the dumpster.

So, are you acknowledging that you deliberately assembled and composed that photo? I honestly like that pic, but I also appreciate accidental and "found" art. Regardless of how it happened, that's a VERY artistically pleasing image.
