Do you have a favorite volume pedal that is dependable?

I know a lot of people that have tried to fix their Ernie Ball volume pedals to the advanced state of intense agro. so that said , do you use a volume pedal that you would recommend?

To me the EB is the top of the heap

Built stronger than any other.

Completely rebuildable.

I love mine.

If the string pull across pot is not your thing I suggest Morley.

Morley uses an light/sensor/slit that is a very solid design when set up properly.

BOSS FV-30

Pretty sturdy in my opinion.

I have a couple, I rarely use them. They always 'tone degrade' unless wide open. At least to my ears. The sound is less clean if not wide open. (just like your guitar tone control! Imagine that!) maybe I should install a treble bleed on the volume pedal!?
I have thought of using one in my Duo work as I might want a little less clean sound playing at those low volumes.
I've never had one fail, excepth the big EB that uses a string, had to restring one. ....so I wouldn't worry much about reliability. The darn EB is so big and heavy it's like carrying an extra pedal board!

I have a Morley, an old EB and a cheap Roland keybord type. The EB seems to be the worst tone offender, no idea why.
I like the $20 Roland the best even though it's a P.O.S.

Why are all these things passive?

It's a pedal on the floor. There's no reason it should need a treble bleed. We don't deny our other pedals a 9V battery.

I got a Dunlop DVP1 Volume Pedal that I been using for 12+ years and it’s the bomb 💣! It works great, nice range of motion and the difference in volume is smooth and very useable. Built really solid and durable and can take a lot of abuse.

I use, and would recommend, the Boss FV-100.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Has it snowed yet this year and how are your nights , cool? Have a good winter. Do you know that these beautiful animals do not live in the central west coast of California U.S.A.?

You're welcome!
The only "problem" with the FV-100 is that it takes up a lot of floor space, but that's mostly a
playing-in-the-cramped-man-cave -issue. On stage though... fuhgeddaboutit.
Generous pedal size on stage means you'll actually find it when it counts.
That thing has always been part of my stage pedals ever since I got it. Guitar or bass, doesn't matter. It's in there!

Going metric on you now...
It has snowed some 300km to the north of here but right here, down south, it's just raining for now.
Night temperatures here are like "all bets are off". They've recently been anywhere between -4°C and +6°C.
Bon hiver a toi aussi!

Another vote for the Boss FV500 - it's so solid you could use it to jack up your car; very smooth action/taper, too! If you don't mind the huge size, this one is hard to beat.

I am a believer in all pedals that are opticle , that way you dont end up with scratchy pots, buggered up ,missaligned string draws I use a DOD FX17 Volume wha cheap if you can find one but quiet as hell and no pots

There are active volume pedals. I don't prefer them. I just want a volume pot on the floor, not another preamp stage. I deny all my pedals a 9v battery. They all plug in.

I have several 1960s/1970s DeArmonds laying around, all backups for each other, but frankly none of them has ever developed a problem. They just keep on trucking.
