Do you get depressed on your birthday?

Never. It's always my day to celebrate life and I make sure I do something fun either on or the day before/after. One thing I do is plug in and play it loud! Cheers!

Birthdays sort of got to me in my mid 20s. The doom and gloom of possibilities lost becomes more normal as time goes on, and it's not like I have much reflection time anyway.
This year I'm irritated because on my birthday I plan on renewing my car tags (it's later this week) but I've got court for work at 8am. I have court for work about 10 times a month, so it's not weird, but it is annoyingly inconvenient. By the time I get released from court (it's a thrice continued jury trial for someone who stole right under a camera, so whether they no show or not, I'll be there until at least 9, when the bmv starts getting busier....) I'll have a bigger time investment for the tags.
We normally get food from one of my favorite places.
Wife used to blow money on things. Without going into detail, nothing I want is worth squandering any part of our savings on, and she pays very little attention to what I actually would want anyway, so several "well intended " gifts turned into covers for shopping sprees that took big hits from the accounts....
I think we're past that bit of psychological torture.
I'm really big on birthdays for the kids. They're only young once, I strive to get as many good memories made for them as I can figure out how to.

Will be 60 in November, more depressed about the hip and back pain I am having right now :(
Went into physical therapy for back pain (arthritis), the hip pain is an added bonus 😢

Nope. Not depressed at all. I like getting older, 'cause I'm improving in some ways. I'll have my time here until I'm done. I'm cool with that.

My 30th depressed the heck out of me. My others have been great to okay. 60th is coming up in November. Keep thinking I should plan something special.

This year was exceptionally weird. My mom's funeral service was Friday, my birthday was Saturday.

Saturday I slept in, cried in the shower, went for a birthday skate to a cafe where I met my friend, and spent the rest of the day with her.

No depression whatsoever. I'm thankful for each day and happy to be in relatively good health and able to do what I do. Many aren't so fortunate. This year my girlfriend arranged a nice overnight getaway for my birthday, and it was very enjoyable. I much prefer that to a party.

Two things help me stay balanced.
1. I wake up grateful. My work takes me to many poverty stricken countries. There are lessons if you want them.
2. I look forward to stuff. If there is nothing, I learn, make or invent stuff.

Really you only have one birthday. Mine was on this date back in '66.

No reason for depression or anything like that- it is truly just another day.
I do appreciate that family extends themselves to make it special
Is today your birthday? And is that a new pic of your birthday suit?
