I love my birthday! It’s st Patrick’s day. But last year I was diagnosed with a disease that’s going to shorten my life. Last year after hearing the bad news I drank a bit and wend to dinner with the kids. This year I was flying home after spending a week with my new granddaughter. I was in a terrific mood. So. I still like my birthday.

I'll hit 63 real soon. Son away at school, no friends here, no one but me and the dog at home. So it's just another day, except you can't help feeling you're supposed to "celebrate your birthday." By yourself? What would I do? Go out and sit in a restaurant by myself? Get myself a cake at the grocery store?
In May, I''l be 65..... I've recently retired.....my 2 pups are great company......They think everyday is my Birthday!

My wife passed away 2 and a half years ago....So my Birthday isn't a trigger, my rough days are Xmas (Double whammy for Boxing Day our Anniversary) and the Anniversary of Christine's passing December 14, 2020 So let's just say I don't care for December! Or winter or traffic jams or big cities....

When I retired, I sold the house packed up my dogs and guitars and moved to the furthest place south In Ontario to a small town between Windsor and Detroit. Lot's of open road to ride my motorcycle. If I need to torture myself in a Big City......Detroit is a 10 minute drive.

My Step Son now lives 3 and a half hours from me....the plan is that he'll drive down, I'll make lunch and Tylor will head home mid afternoon.

And Sloppychops Yes you should get a cake! Happy Birthday Everyone!

I do. Seems to get worse every year. But then, I'm usually kind of down most of the time anyway. I hate when someone asks if I'm doing anything special for my birthday, because I never do.
age 49 was ok, birthday appreciation ended on my 50th, 60th was worse, 65th was insufferable no way am I 65 already!

I did when it was incredibly stupid, like 30. That was hard. Now in my 70's no.

Today is my birthday!
Really.
66 today.
I'm really glad I made it.
I'm not depressed about it at all.
Happy Birthday! You're just a kid yet BB! I was fourteen years old when you got here, smoked like a freight train, would drink anything that even MIGHT be alcohol. Those mysteries of life? Had that taken care of too. I'm glad I did all that when I was young, I don't think I could hold up to it now!🤣🤣🤣

My wife and I have never celebrated birthdays since we were kids. Seems more like something for kids than for adults.

I have never been depressed by having a birthday. At fact, at 75 I am very glad to still be around for them. Especially now after beating cancer last fall. Having another birthday sure beats the alternative.

Oh, I'd just wish there was a way to skip or erase that day off my calendar! Good memories are very few, and most the times everybody enjoys the day BUT me. I don't like cakes and I don't want none to give me nothing.

I can remember the early birthdays, those were exciting because of the toys and the kids playing and making noise, but I see no need for celebrations once you're a grown-up. I mean, why?

My [ex] wife spent my birthday with me last year. I think it was the most beautiful birthday I can remember.

But again, I would be glad if I could just skip the day for good.

The Beat Goes On. Might as well enjoy as much of it as you can. I try and not dwell on what might be going wrong or is going to be. Play your instrument, especially when the blues comes around, be good to yourself. I've got some nice instruments but none of my kids/grand kids are players. What to do with them? I probably need to decide sooner than later!
