Gross man, obviously yes. Also that's not what patina means.
Your coffee cup:
...not regarding the coffee cup, but...
Never clean a tea pot.. less concerned about coffee..
I rinse my coffee tumbler after each use twice and wash it after the third use and repeat. I take my java neat.
Guilty- no one else drinks out of my mug.
And I will sip a cup of coffee for hours, so it gets like this.
So my answer is, I just rinse out the mug, but my wife will wash the mug when she gets a hold of it!
COFFEE, COFFEE, COFFEE!! YAY!!
Coffee cups go into the dishwasher after a day's use. If they are badly stained, we fill them with water and add an ounce or two of bleach to clean them, then load them into the dishwasher.
Crusty crud and germs freak my wife out; everything is cleaned.
I drink it black so it gets rinsed daily and washed every 3-4 days. Missus Marshman takes cream, so hers get washed daily.
I worked with a guy, middle school history teacher, whose mug had not been washed in so long it looked like he would gain an ounce or two of volume if he’d gotten it cleaned. Kinda gross if I’m being honest.

Once a week... whetherr it needs it or not.
I'm from the last generation who grew up playing in dirt, not living in surgical conditions.
I've no allergies, never ill. If I've had COVID 19, I never noticed.
I had my first jab recently, had mild cold symptoms for a couple of hours... My sister and other friends who are germaphobes, suffered much more severe side effects.
Draw your own conclusions.
No disrespect to your Paw Paw.
I’ll use the same water glass all day over and over but I feel that’s different.
Yes, because old dead coffee tastes vile
My stainless steel one gets flushed with boiling water, my home cup gets rinsed and washed daily
Every time unless I'm drinking one after the other. I will admit some of your habits disgust me a little.
I put coffee mugs in the dishwasher after a rinse. I have two cappuccino cups from Scotland that I hand wash after use and two Royal Copenhagen cappuccino cups that are also hand wash. The cups from Scotland are every day cups but I don’t want to break them. I froth the milk directly in the cup and shoot the espresso through it. They’re exactly the right size.
Quick sand blast every couple years.
Yes. Wash everytime after use.
i do believe in good bacteria, and other stuff we need to survive, etc etc, but daaaaang, mugs aren’t cast iron pans/pots/skillet!!
I'd rather know if there's something unhealthy lurking at the bottom of my mugs/cups.
I almost never washed my cup at work...I had to hide it from my secretary to keep it from being washed. Now, I use a clean one everyday and stick it in the dishwasher when done. Different times.
I rinse it every day. Weekly, I take the white scrubber thing to it.
The old guys in the office never cleaned their mugs. They treated grunge like a badge of honor.
