Do they make these without the EVH stripes?

the mighty Guitar Wolf is correct when he says the most important thing about a guitar is that it looks cool

he goes on to state that red guitars are usually the best- but i disagree with that part

Something Jimmy and I discussed at length and agreed to disagree on. 🤣 I freakin’ LOVE red guitars. And I don’t currently have one… hmmm…
All of my electrics are red. Just kinda worked out that way.

Once again, not everyone in this world can be cool and have awesome taste...but there's always plenty of room for more bland and boring folks :)
Haha, years ago I cut a huge limb off a walnut tree unfortunately at the wrong time of year. The only part I thought I could salvage was a fork that when slabbed had a beautiful grain pattern. I thought at least I've got a Flying V. The more it cured the weirder it warped. It looked similar to that ax when the cracking started. There was no salvation, which is pretty much what Eddie discovered.
The end.

Today has taught us Jakedog needs a red BFG. The good news is there's one on Reverb right now, and Shipping is somehow only $12.50.

The bad news is they're asking $1700 for a pretty much stock guitar that was $900 new.

My first permanent gigging guitar was CAR, I'm never getting rid of it.

I had a mid 90’s ā€˜57 AVRI Strat in CAR. I loved that guitar sooooo much. But the tiny frets totally killed it for me. And at that time, my financial position did not allow for having it Re-fretted. So I just traded it for a different guitar. I wish it had turned out differently. At some point I’ll get another CAR Strat. It’s the best strat color ever invented.

Back to the stripes:
My friend and neighbor from highschool used to gather all the broken parts from the scene (early 80's . . .) and rebuild them into his own recreations. He showed me how to paint the stripes on what was a Strat by rolling through a puddle of paint and then over the body with his sister's bike. Swore that's how Eddie did it.
My friend is a world famous pickup maker now.
Anyway, kinda biased toward stripes.

I guess my question is why would you want an EVH guitar without stripes since the stripes is what identifies the guitar with Eddie..?. you can get a John Mayer.. or a Clapton.. or any other signature guitar if you want one without stripes... which color don't you like ?... red ?.. or white?.. then get a guitar the color opposite of the color you don't like..

because while I greatly admire Eddie's skills,
1) I'm not 12 and
B)it's not 1978

(I was 12 in 1978, come to think of it)

It's just a chopped up Ibanez Destroyer. I would say get a Destroyer and make your own, but Eddie said the tone was never right again after he chopped the body.

I think the point was that the only reason to own that guitar is as a Van Halen tribute, since even Eddie Van Halen didn't like the cut up body. If you want a chopped up guitar with extra metal from the hardware store, that is easily and cheaply done with any guitar...for better or worse.

sure. whatevs.

I dig this guit, even if Eddie didn't like the tonal resuts
but I'll never own a guit with EVH stripes

Than you've narrowed it down to 2 likely answers - get an Ibanez Destroyer and cut it yourself, or get the EVH copy and paint it.
