Do parenthesis drive any one else crazy?

    Well, I could try to reduce the use of parentheses (although, I could use brackets [to differentiate {there is a hierarchy that I don't remember though}]).

    Not so much of a problem on this site, but just be glad you can comprehend what you read here. Go to Craigslist and read some of the music ads and you'd think you were reading a text message from a fourth grader. Some are unintelligible. I believe some of the younger generation are simply illiterate and don't know any better.

    Saw a guitar ad last night where the guy actually used "it'z" and such spellings as opposed to "it's" or the possessive "its," as in "its bridge has been replaced."

    America is heading to the bottom faster than any country in the world. I know why but don't want to get banned or called names. :rolleyes:

    If you want crazy stuff, read some computer language syntax, like BNF:

    ArrayCreatorRest:
    [ (] {[]} ArrayInitializer | Expression ] {[ Expression ]} {[]})

    The one that always gets me is when other people turn over Perl code that uses heavy regex expressions. Powerful, but holy (poo) they can be convoluted. Like this (all one line - this will probably wrap in your browser window):

    my $re = qr/^(\d{3}[_-][\w\d]{3}[_-]\d{3,4}(?:[_-]\d{3,4})?)(?:[_ -]\w)?[_ ]{0,5}[rR](?:[eE][vV])?(?:\.)? ?([\w\d-]?) *(.*)/;

    OK, I can figure this out, but why would anyone want to? Why should anyone have to? Break it up - use that extra millisecond of processing power! Of course, the people who turn this code over don't document or do turnover either.

    [long list of deleted expletives...]
