Want to try something that can really mellow out your Tele - - but still sizzle, AND be hum-free, impossible though that might sound?

I have these in several Teles. I believe the Lawrences have a holiday sale going on now.

Thanks for this. They look great- and I’ll certainly look out for them- though appear to be a bit hard to find in England! I’ll see if the Bare Knuckle guys do anything similar as they’re much easier to get here…

The Telecaster is a great guitar. Why should everybody else in the world have one and you don't? You've worked hard, you've saved your money, and you've earned the right to have any guitar you want. You deserve a Telecaster.
Fender should sell their guitars via Multi-Level Marketing.

That would be horrible.

Imagine your friends selling guitars like Amway, Pampered Chef, NuSkin, etc. They never admit up front that it's Amway--they hide the truth by referring to it as "my business," or some other shady euphemism.

If they say Amway right up front, it sends people screaming for the hills.

Tongue-in-cheek, of course.

However . . . . my experience at an early age with MLM's was that the pawns usually got stuck with a lot of inventory . . . . .

I maintain, and will take to my grave, that the ‘95-‘04 American Standard and American Series Strats and teles were the best instruments Fender has ever produced on a mass scale. They never made anything that consistently good before, and haven’t since on a large factory scale.

The pickups in particular are great, and very underrated. No, these guitars do not look, play, or sound particularly like they’re from the 50’s. So if that’s what one is after, they should look elsewhere. As an overall extremely well made and high quality instrument, they’re very hard to beat with any other mass produced instruments.
I prefer the '12-'17 ones on the Stratocaster side, but I don't think they're super different. These eras are the best.

I think the only thing I'll add (hopefully of substance) is that you should play the Heritage before you buy one. They're built really well and are really great guitars, but do not feel like their counterparts from other manufacturers.

Can't say for other people, but I doubt I even need a single guitar. Yeah, I want lots of them, not necessarily many more than I have, but that's another story.

I am, to a fault, a "sell/trade when a piece of gear is uninspiring". I've both inspired myself with the newly acquired gear, AND have regretted some of the gear I've moved. But, its all part of the "guitar player on a budget" program haha. I say, if you've lost interest in it, maybe its time to move on. There will always be Tele's out there to be had :)

Thanks again for all the comments. The answer is I do indeed need a tele.

I had the thought of selling both the tele and the Starla, and getting one guitar, such as a Heritage. Quality over quantity, or something like that.

But both the tele and the Starla do completely different things really well. So I think I’ll keep them.

And to satisfy the GAS, I suppose that’s where pedals come in….

Wise move.

I have found Tele's and Dueseys can live perfectly happily together. Now the real question is...do you also need a 335?

I have owned 10 teles, mostly vintage style but the one I keep is an American series 2001- in my pic right there. The neck is incredible, did swap the bridge pickup. You are doing the right thing by keeping it, as it’s irreplaceable:)
