Day to day generally defines you.
However, if a person wakes up and decides to do a heinous thing (insert your own definition of a heinous thing here), that one incident will define that person, for better or worse.

Yes, he had some other issues before August 1, 1966, but as far as I know, it was nothing heinous (someone else here may know something I don’t—domestic abuse would not be a surprise).
