I agree and have been finding out that all neighbors are bastards, except for John in the house behind mine, he seems okay, until he becomes a bastard.

I had a similar argument with my Bass player years ago...

Which Bass is in tune? This one:

    Or this one:

As professional cover plate putter oner, the answer is vertical. And yes I notice. Constantly. Not as aggravating as one out of level, but when you do it for a living you can’t help it...

No they're not, you're too heavy handed. You aren't a bass player are you? :)

Alternatively, stop buying cheap crap from B&Q, get MK instead.

wall plates not allowed here...building regs....pull chord only and no power outlets....cant stand a grimy pull chord...its origins are likely dubious

You (the OP) is WRONG! Because the outlet on the left side of yours is not level in the opening at all....screw the screws, at least switch number two has nice level spacing around the switches. Your outlet reminds me of my Gibson SG pickups in the pick guard....geez. Now I have to sell my guitar.

Since you are a member of the board and they aren't, your right.
If the situation was reversed who's right would be reversed.

    That's how things work now.

You're both wrong to care about the alignment more than that they've been evenly torqued.

That said, your neighbor's looks better aesthetically. If the panel was taller than wide, then you would be right. Our eyes are less distracted by lines that follow lines, and you shouldn't be drawing attention to the screws.
