I am right, I just know it.
Neither. You have to adjust the screws to diagonal and alternate opposite each other from left to right. I swear to god that was a thing on MyLesPaul forum and I actually did it thinking they must know more than me.
the flat head screws should always be vertical...Why?
because your wife may break aa nail if the screws are side ways
You both did better than me.
Here's how we roll in Casa de Gardner.
Ahahaha love it!
Neither is vintage correct for those outlet and switch types
I could just do vertical at the top because she never turns them off....ever.
now...where have i seen something similar.....reminds me of a uk standard double wall socket we had at work...dangling out of a great raggy hole in the wall....by about 5ft of grey wiring...like an extension cable to the netherworlds....mentioned it to works manager...he shrugged and enquired if anyone had been zapped by it...they hadnt so he did nothing about it...that was many years ago....now he would be shot at dawn for allowing it
Are you actually talking about the position of the slots on the screws?
During my almost 70 years on the planet I've never once considered or even noticed how screw slots line up.
What's more I wouldn't even have the slightest idea how to go about intentionally arriving at either of those configurations.
as for screws ...tighten em till you hear something crack...then panic over the finery of detail and appearence...move em about every few weeks to drive everyone nuts...horiz...vert....diag opposed...diag similar...no end of fun to be had with wall socket or switch crews....dont know what i would do with my weekend without em...really confuse em...occasionally swap the odd one here and there for a crosshead screw
which of you is more of a body builder?
There's no "Both of you have OCD" option.
Both are right as long as both screws match. It lets the next guy to work on it know that the last guy wasn't a hack, and paid attention to detail. There are many "tells" that seem pointless to someone who isn't a repair person.
That first photo with the sideways switches is the most offensive photo I've seen in ages.
It was so bad it took me several minutes to realize you all were on about the screw slots. Jesus. Cant even look at the photo again it bothers me so much. Arrrgh!!!
Sorry, I had to change my answer. When I first responded, I was lying down in bed, but now I'm up and about.
You need a 3rd option. Random positioning.
It never even occurred to me to pay attention to screw head alignment.
What's the question?
Get the duct tape.
I certainly don’t know what you mean...
