This takes me back a couple of decades. I wasn't in the U.S., but I had a habit of putting clothes on top of my amp. Not dirty clothes, but whatever I was going to wear that week or something.
I had my amp in my bedroom, and I would always take off my sweater when I was playing, which may have been how it started.
People always say "get your mind out of the gutter." Mmm, I'm not sure that exactly what they are saying there, but it's might be a little Freudian slip of some kind.
This is, indeed, an hilarious precept for a thread. I've often wondered why people think their unmade bed is a good place for an instrument photo. But some of these images prove that there are worse places...
I would think a good percentage of these people are probably collage students, young adults living in small apartments, roommates, etc. I would also guess that they have little money, which is likely why they're selling to begin with.
Thanks so much for posting! Nice to know it's not only my 19-year-old daughter's room that looks like this.
I was never that sloppy as a teenager. Was I...?
Best Thread Ever!....
Not only dirty laundry, but I think I see Steven Seagal's hair in this photo...
plus every thread like this needs a semi-relevant song post:
Lots of ads with bare feet sticking out. URGHHH what is wrong with people.
Just think of those pictures as clever and thoughtfully arranged compositions ....to keep burglars away.
too bad some buyers will shy away too.
I'd be very interested to see if you can find as many ads that DO NOT have laundry/clothes in the photos.
Someone once devised an experiment in which they started with the idea that they would believe sincerely that they would find quarters on the ground as they went about their day. They experiment was for thirty days. They kept their eyes on the ground as they moved about the world outside their home, as much as was possible, within safe limits. They expected they would find quarters. It's a great way to demonstrate to ourselves how we find what we expect to.
could be worse....
Well, female maybe.
For those of you familiar with Kelly's Heroes, here's a quote from Big Joe (Telly Savalas) when he sees one of his company with some underwear on his head. He nailed it.
Big Joe: Take that underwear off your head, enh? Enough is enough.
No, I know where all my laundry is. But now I have to go back and check all my recent pics.
Too funny. Lol. You folks have too much time on your hands. Amassing all these pics with laundry and hampers. I am amused.
I'm usually very fussy with my photos, but I thought I'd give this a try...
and I've been meaning to debut my little First Act parlor guitar that I repaired, cleaned up and and fret-leveled:
In the above pic, I have to admit that the black t-shirt is exactly where it's been for three or four days now. (The other clothes are 'staged')
Anyway, I repaired a couple of minor cracks and touched things up with a Sharpie. I like the zero fret, and the tuners work fine. It's a great little player!
There was a high fret, and really the frets were a wavy mess, so I leveled the whole thing:
Final beauty shot:
I notice unvaccuumed floors, too! And sometimes there are toes in the pics! Lol
I trie to tidy up the house when I take pictures ...but it ain't easy.
