I make this Finnish Turnip Pear soup that is really good -- and I'm not just saying that to make up for the Finnish disco video I posted yesterday.

It's a simple, pureed soup and tastes creamy even though there's no dairy.

Be careful to adjust it so that it's not too sweet.

    [EDIT: paleo? *approving grunts*]

We eat light for breakfast, no lunch generally and since dinner is the only meal we eat together, we like to have a nice home cooked meal 5-6 nights a week. Gives us a chance to talk about our days and relax a bit.

And just to clarify for me it goes: Breakfast (morning), Dinner (midday), & then Supper (evening). I don't call any time of the day I eat lunch.

I use lunch to avoid ambiguity. And because I love the song title "Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today" That just doesn't work with dinner.

    Last night was a salad.

    Spinach and greens mix
    Cherry tomatoes
    Buffalo spice hard boiled egg
    Hot pepper rings
    Shredded pork shoulder
A dab of refried beans for good measure
    Just a dabble of Ranch

    It was rather good.

Went hard last night and had pan-seared ribeye, rare, with cheesy polenta and roasted chilis.

Tonight I made Bison steaks (how Canadian) with warm Jaime Oliver potato salad on the side for me and the missus. I'm retired, so she has it pretty good.

I thought you were going to show us one of those birds all roasted golden brown on a plate.

Oh, I miss that old emoji, the one with the horns.

    :)
