I had both, and was able to judge them together. I was using them onstage, not using them for their amp simulations or to record via a studio mixer - maybe someone else can offer an opinion there. For me - the Zoom had instant patch change (no muting between changes), had a better tuner, and was small enough to go in the back of my amp (a MusicMan). The Digitech had a slightly 'jumpy' tuner, but contained a 'modelled' Tubescreamer. I bought this because I was so impressed with Digitech's Bad Monkey pedal, and the tubescreamer setting was pretty close. I found the Digitech was slightly easier to program. For the delay, chorus, phaser, reverb settings etc., I didn't find much difference. I'd just about decided that the overdrive meant that the Digitech was the winner despite the jumpy tuner, then found a setting on the Zoom ('modelled' Marshall Guvnor pedal) which I loved, so kept the Zoom.

I haven't tried the RP150, but I have a Zoom G2.1u, which I believe has largely the same sims and effects as the G2.

I'm reasonably satisfied with the G2.1u and have used it a lot in the studio and on one gig so far. Since I run it through a tube amp that sounds good in itself, I have mostly used it for effects, mainly "tape echo", tremolo, reverb, chorus.

When I first got it, I tried the amp/pedal sims and wasn't impressed. Lately I have tried them again and found that e.g. one of the Marshall sims is relatively good. Took some tweaking though, since the default settings are a bit over the top.

I also like the fact that patch up/down foot switches are of the traditional type, that give a distinct switching click.
However, I have read that some users have had foot switches breaking down.

What do you want for it do for ya?

I understand what I feel are the upsides and down sides of the RP. No experience with the G2.

And finally...the RP50 will fit in the back of an amp cab too...and it runs the same chip set as the 150.

I've been using my G2 for more than a year now in rehearsals and live situations. I get my drive from my ds-1 and badmonkey before it. I mainly use it for anything but the amp sims. It's been a good to me and a good practice companion too with the basic drum machine/metronome. Pretty convenient equipment for me. Been good so far though I respect my equipment and I don't abuse them.

I just use the RP-50 for the amp syms, delay and some eq depending on the sym. It does it's job by giving me more options.
