I still have a rather large "Pique" sticker from Mexico 86. Very cool sticker. Diego made a mess of his life but when he was in his prime on the field no one could stop him. Stay away from the coke kids and dads!Coke es no bueno, ever.

I'm not into football but it doesn't look like he was overrated, what makes you say that ?

One of the greatest players of all. Like most of us, a fallible human.
The 'hand of god' goal still hurts..

    RIP Diego.

I mean... Many people say that he was the greatest of all time. But I don't think it would even be in the top 10. One of the greatest for sure, but not the best. Sorry, just my opinion.

Very talented with a ball, but sad that he was not a sportsman as well.
So few people who work in the "sports" industry are though.

    RIP.

Fantastic footballer, but I'll never forget how much the Hand of God 'goal' broke my heart as a 13 year old lad. His other goal in the game was possibly the best I've ever seen. Left our defence in tatters.

George Best died: 15 years ago, to the day. What are the chances?

Many examples, of profoundly gifted sporting figures (amongst others) who couldn't handle the resulting adulation pressures. Maradona might have been the most important of them. The era of his dominance, was over too soon.....but predictably, given his personality, habits and choice of advisers.
There have been many ball juggling wizards, in the history of the game. None had Maradona's blend of power and ruthlessness, to go along with these gifts.

I don't like to compare players across generations, so never indulge in talk about 'the best ever' players. It is enough, to have been the undisputed champion, of your time.
