Checking out versions of Working Man's Blues, and there he was. And he was!
No I don't subscribe to the belief of the commentator who states Robben Ford
is a master of every genre. I'm a huge fan of his, but he's not a country player.
Yet, his playing fits right in, and sounds absolutely stunning, without actually
being died in the wool country.

    Great stuff!

First off, Brad is a monster! Gotta love that he's basically playing with the most classic of rock setups and it sounds totally at home for country (thank you Jim Marshall and Leo Fender).

Second, we all know Robben is amazing, but uh...yeah. Killer country/rock solo there for him as well. I love how all the guitars just stopped, dropped out and let Robben shine.

Third. Is it just me or does Robben kind of look like a young Ace Frehley here? I swear he could put on the makeup and look almost just like circa-78 Ace. Funny.

Funny that he's using the Marshall. I didn't realize BP was. I assumed he was using the Z amp. Someone in the comments
made a statement about the superiority of Z amps, but he's using the Marshal. That'll learn 'im.

He doesn't have the worn out, leathery look of drug abuse that AF always seemed to have. But I can see the similarity.

If you've seen him play, you know that Robben is nothing if not game for anything, and he is going to put the pedal to the metal.
Makes him really fun to see.

I've just learned about RF recently. Foolishly, everytime he was mentioned, I just brushed it off as guitar insider/hipster hype. Yikes! Do I ever feel like a fool! Not only is he a monster player, he's a great guy from what I can tell.

Yep. Then again Ace didn't look too terrible in the 70's. Now? Well, different story.

I dunno, he looks at least a fair bit rough there as well, albeit better than he would down the line.
Some folks just have that look. Like Tommy Lee Jones.

Saw him live on that first Blue Line tour. Small club, he walks out to the edge of the small stage, and starts tossing packs of foam hearing protection to people up front, or near to. He simply says, "Here, you're going to need these" to all those he's handing out hearing protection to.

    Funny, and also very decent.

Yeah, true that. Tommy Lee Jones, lol. And Danny Trejo. It's the pock marks that make them look so rough.

Fortunately for RF, he doesn't look that way. Never thought I'd see him onstage with Pad Braisley.

He is a very gracious guy. And he sounds best when he bears down on that Tele. And it can get loud.
    I like it like that.
His rhythm section is excellent also, truly excellent.

Robben's a fantastic player. One of the few who seem to realize that rhythm is every bit as important, and as creative as, soloing. IMO, his "best" chops don't really show in a setting like this. Still a rousing solo, though.

    Very nice guy, too.

Actually, I think BP is using a Z - the red one right behind him.
You can see it clearly when he steps aside for Robben's first solo (which is, of course, stellar!).

There is a Marshall right beside it, but I think the guitarist to Brad's right it using that one.
(or maybe Brad's plugged into both)

And Robben is plugged into his Dumble, sitting right behind him.

    Cool jam!!

I've never seen Robben playing an SG before.
