Did you know owls had fur on their feet before this album came out?

I didn't. Well, the album was out a good 10 years before I bought it, but I seriously did not know owls had fur on their feet prior to this.

[EDIT: I know some wise guy is going to say, "You mean owls' feet were furless before 1975?" No, that's not what I meant!!!]

Pretty certain that's a snowy owl ... which has fine feathers on it's feet and face. Fine enough to look like fur ... but they're feathers. :( Great thread title though! And a fine album too!

These little characters are currently being brought up in our local animal/bird rescue centre after suddenly being orphaned. Once they can fend for themselves they'll be released. To me they look like some sort of doo-wop backing vocal group from The Jungle Book!

Slightly 'whiskery' from what I remember. But they're only very young!

I first bought it on cassette, then I even bought it on vinyl sometime more recently, like in the last 10 or 12 years.

I never thought about the fur, and don't usually take prog album covers to be an exact mirror of reality.

A "who-wop" group, so to speak.

And agreed, definite contender for the "Clickbait Thread Title of the Month".

I got a real close-up look at one but it's a sad tale: for a couple days i watched a tree about 200 yards distant in a forest reserve behind our house and what looked like a pillow case or white plastic bag about 10 feet up in a tree. I finally took the walk back there to investigate; it was a very large owl that had been caught in a trap and still had the trap on his leg with a length of chain that had become tangled in the branches. It probably starved to death, just hanging upside down in that tree.
It was so big, i couldn't grip his wings and spread them completely with my arm span. I gave it a decent burial. I have always admired owls, mysterious and mystic.

What's interesting is not long after I bought this album, somebody asked our High School PE coach a stupid question and he responded by saying, "Do owls have fur on their feet?" Or maybe it was, "Do owls have feathers on their feet?" I can't remember, actually.
