    Is anybody else seeing this?

I have an 11 year old that wanted to stay up and welcome in the New Year.

Now she will be a twerking expert.

I'm at a loss for words.

After watching that travesty for about ten minutes, the only thing that I wanted to know was...

Where did they find a skunk that big to make that Billy dude’s fur coat?

That polecat musta been as big as a rhinoceros!

I'm coming up on nine years without television.

You fellows are reinforcing my decision to give it up in the first place, and I thank you for that.

    :)

No TV in the house since 2007.

My world is different and far better without it.

If you liked that, just wait for the Super Bowl halftime show.

My wife "wanted to see what was going on", so we switched on New Year's Rocking Eve (Dick Clarke, now Ryan Seacrest), and it was so sad and pathetic I made it 30 seconds. Wife accused me of "getting mad" because I got up to leave the room. I said I'm not mad, but I'm not wasting time on this ridiculousness... I won't get into a dissertation about WHY I think it (among many other things going on these days) is ridiculous... the phrase "you can't polish a turd" comes to mind...

I make it a point now to be asleep by midnight every New Year's Eve. I still have neurological symptoms from that fiasco back in '77.

Complaining about twerking on TV would make a lot more sense if the year was 2014. I know this, and I haven't had a TV since 2004.

If you can bear to tell it, what happened in '77?

On this topic, I can absolutely relate with you all.

The last time I had this on was when my daughter several years ago (who was 10 at the time) wanted to celebrate her first New Year's Eve by staying up until midnight. So the TV was turned on, begrudgingly, at 10 pm EST.

When Miley Cyrus came onto the stage, wearing an extravagant white fur coat with a train about ten yards long ... and then get this, I am not making this up ... the train of this coat was being navigated by a midget while Queen Miley entered the front stage...

....it was then I said 'Never again. Never, ever, ever again'.

Those two hours prior to the annual ball dropping are truly the most ridiculous, nauseating, and embarrassing reflections of society.

I boycotted TV around 1998. We have one, but we use it to watch DVDs, Netflix, etc. We don't watch broadcast crap, or any kind of crap really.

The year 2021 arrived here without TV celebrity intervention or assistance. ;)

Mrs Dog and I watched the Twilight Zone marathon last night. Seemed more appropriate.

My wife and I re-watched the film, Darkest Hour. An excellent film though not excellent history.

Ehhh. I went to a party that lasted a week. I thought it was cool at the time, but it was a nightmare really. Oh well!

Probably just showing my age, but I went to bed (alone....sigh) about 10:30.
Nature called about 12:15 AM.....I answered......then went back to sleep.
It was even quiet in the neighborhood, as far as I could tell.....no firecrackers, horns or whistles, or gunfire.
Maybe 2021 WILL be different! ;)
