Anything too good I see on Craigs I take with a grain of salt but this got my attention. I am not affiliated in any way and I have no opinion of Dumbles, just that they don't pop up everyday:

"Cash-Only Sale" So, how many people are going to show up with $50,000 in cash in their pockets?

Me thinks the auctioneer has NO idea what a Dumble is, or what they're worth.

Cash Only? Who travels with that much cash?

Man, that will be attended by high rollers. it might be interesting just to show up and watch.

I wonder if Howard will contact the auction house and demand that his NDA be a part of the sales?

I think Rich is right. the auctioneer has no clue what this stuff is worth. maybe neither does the executor of the estate.

Folks wire the money, lots of other ways also work 'same as cash'…

boy… that would sure be fun to have a steel string singer! and that tele!

man if I were serious about going to that auction I would contact them in advance to make sure thatr was OK, and that they are not requiring cash-cash.

It's a joke ad. Has to be. No way it's real in any way. Check out "Skip's" song titles. Read the content. It's a really fun ad, but there ain't no Dumble auction going on. I guarantee it.

He was a pedal steel player.
So that's consistent with the amp.
And he slept on pool tables.
    That is also accurate.

Yeah, has to be a joke. Probably the same guy who posted a tweed Bassman for $50 last week, sorry guys.

I went to graduate school at DU -- the address sounded roughly familiar, it's a block from campus. I googled it and whatever building used to be there appears to have been replaced by a vacant lot.

Nothing's stopping anyone from dropping this guy an email, though I think Jakedog's BS-meter is probably justified here.

Yes, this same yahoo posted a $50 '59 Bassman and a Dumble recently too. I've seen this "estate sale" joke pop up a few times over the years too. Someone either has too much time on their hands or has an interesting way of collecting email addresses to sell to spammers.

How very droll. So that's is what you do when you own a lear jet.
They did not even try to clean them up, that is truely arrogant.

I don't understand how a guy who slept on pool tables and was known by cops and hookers managed to keep a vintage Gibby and Tele let alone a stash of three Dumbles. I should do a Google Image search...

"Too Good to be True" and "Is this For Real?" seem to be clues.

My imagination's going wild with this one, I think I'll write a story. Some down & out, basement-dwelling, bottom-rung rockers in Denver. BIG heroin habits and the kind of debt that comes with big heroin habits. Lightbulb:!::!::!: Use craigslist to lure people with pockets full of cash to a vacant lot? 3..2..1.. AMBUSH!

That's what I was thinking while reading the ad. Booze, hookers and bail gets expensive.

Sounds like it's a joke anyway.

Fake add the SSS is Henry Kaiser's and was recently sold through Maverick Music, the middle amp is Jelle Welagen's and the last one not sure but one could just ask Jelle. The photo was posted on Jelle's Facebook page a long time ago.

Is that a ShoBud amp? I had never seen one before.

It's hard for me to see the point to this. It clearly is a fake ad
