Not the first time I post about this band, which I've really become fond of. One of their latest performances available on YT: few cameras but a great recording of one of their best lives I've seen so far with their new drummer:

I'm waiting for their new album which is due for the end of this year (if not delayed...). They should have played here in Paris but it's been postponed twice already and I'm pretty sure it's going to be canceled once and for all unfortunately :(
In the meantime, let's enjoy what we've already got!

That guitarist is channeling Leo Nocentelli in a very sharp sinuous way, me likey.

Use me any time you want with stanky fonk like that, @EsquireBoy ! Til you use me up.

EDIT Those tempo shifts are crazy!

The Leo Nocentelli channel is really clear indeed. Thanks for the reference!
If you don't know guitarist Jimmy James' other band The True Loves already, go check them out, they are great too:

Unbeatable soul/funk. I've heard everything I can find on YT and need to order the CDs.

This is the way I like to play, only I'm no good at it. :D

At first I thought this said "stanky font", and it appears that there actually is a font called "Stanky":

I would have thought "stanky foot" would come up faster though.

Thanks - I had heard of him but didn't know anything about him. And if you are new to Leo and The Meters, well, saddle up your pony and ride. Here they are backing Lee Dorsey.

    Love those jams.

The Beastie Boys gave Lee Dorsey a shout out- Everything I do is funky like Lee Dorsey. And that is how I found out about them. For Jimmy James it was a KEXP episode with the True Loves.

The KEXP lives are a great way to discover bands and artists! That's also how I heard about The True Loves and the DLO3 for the first time.
